India vs Pakistan
7:30pm AEST

Perhaps the most highly anticipated match of the 2019 Cricket World Cup will take place at Old Trafford tonight when India and Pakistan square off.

Pakistan are set to start this as pretty rank outsiders, but they have proven that when they put it all together, they are still more than capable of mixing it with the world’s best. Case in point, the win over England. They haven’t been great in their last two, though and they’d need to find an extra gear to beat India.

The Indians have been in cruise control and they’ll be extremely confident after their comfortable win over Australia. I think that there’s still a bit of meat on the bone for India at $1.45.

Tips:

India to Win @ $1.45
Virat Kohli India Top Runscorer @ $3.25
Jasprit Bumrah India Top Wicket Taker @ $3.50

Sri Lanka vs Australia
7:30pm AEST

Barring inclement weather, Australia will step out again at the Cricket World Cup tonight and realistically, they should be recording a comfortable win over Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka are clearly in a rebuilding phase and this just is not the quality of cricket that we’ve come to expect of the sub-continent nation. Their matches with Pakistan and Bangladesh were washed out, but they offered virtually nothing against New Zealand and would need to improve tenfold to worry Australia.

The ledger stands at 2-1 for the Aussies and they’ll be eager to atone for the loss to India. This is an ideal opportunity for them and vital batting practice for the middle order.

Tips:

David Warner Australia Top Runscorer @ $3.50
Pat Cummins Australia Top Wicket Taker @ $3.50
Angelo Mathews Sri Lanka Top Runscorer @ $6

South Africa vs Afghanistan
10:30pm AEST

The action returns to Wales later tonight when South Africa attempt to record a win at the expense of minnows Afghanistan.

It has not been happy hunting for the Proteas at Cricket World Cup 2019 and they are all but assured of an early ticket home. The barely got a run before their match with the West Indies was abandoned and they lost all of their three matches prior.

If Dale Steyn returns than I think that the result of this match is a foregone conclusion, but South Africa have been sub-par and are in real danger of suffering another historic defeat.

Tips:

Quinton de Kock South Africa Top Runscorer @ $3.75
Mujeeb ur Rehman Afghanistan Top Wicket Taker @ $4.50

England vs West Indies
7:30pm AEST

The host nation are back in action tonight, but they’ll need to be at their best to beat a credible West Indies side. England enter this match off the back of a win over Bangladesh, while the Windies will be eager to get some points on the board after their match with South Africa was abandoned.

For a team that was considered such a heavy favourite prior to the tournament, England have been reasonably underwhelming. They beat South Africa first-up, but that nation hasn’t been in good form, before losing to Pakistan. The win over Bangladesh got the campaign back on track, but this is a tougher prospect.

The West Indies beat Pakistan first-up and were unlucky not to beat Australia at their second appearance. Nothing is expected of them here, but they will be quietly confident of taking the result.

Tips:

England Under 4.5 Runs 1st Over @ $1.73
Jofra Archer England Top Wicket Taker @ $4
Jason Holder West Indies Top Wicket Taker @ $4.50

India vs New Zealand
7:30pm AEST

We’re set for one of the better contests of the 2019 Cricket World Cup so far as India step out opposite New Zealand. Neither nation has tasted defeat yet and both will be eager to record what is likely to prove a vital triumph at Trent Bridge.

India enter this off the back of a smart win over Australia and there’s no doubt that they’ll improve from that effort. Shikhar Dhawan notched an impressive ton and ably supported by the likes of Virat Kholi (82) and Rohit Sharma (57).

New Zealand clearly face their biggest task to date in the form of India, but I think that they are both capable and over the odds at their current price in head-to-head betting.

Tips:

New Zealand to Win @ $2.75
Martin Guptil New Zealand Top Runscorer @ $4.50
Jasprit Bumrah India Top Wicket Taker @ $3.50

Australia vs Pakistan
7:30pm AEST

There’s been a few wash outs recently, but here’s hoping that the weather holds up for Australia’s fourth pool match against Pakistan at the Cricket World Cup.

Australia’s loss to India over the weekend has put a lot into perspective and if they are any hope of hoisting the World Cup, they simply cannot afford to lose many, if any more games. Steve Smith was again the highlight of Australia’s innings, while Marcus Stoinis produced his best performance with the ball so far, taking a couple of wickets.

Pakistan have returned several pleasing performances, namely their win over tournament favourites England, and they will be quietly confident of recording another positive result here.

Tips:

Steve Smith Australia Top Runscorer @ $4
Babar Azam Pakistan Top Runscorer @ $3.75
Mitchell Starc Australia Tip Wicket Taker @ $3.75

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka
7:30pm AEST

We’re set for an interesting fixture when Bangladesh and Sri Lanka square off at the Bristol County Ground tonight. Both nations have scored at least one win, and each will be both eager and confident of recording another.

Bangladesh haven’t so much been a surprise packet at the World Cup; by this point, most people know that they are a credible cricketing nation, but they’ve certainly started to realise their potential and recorded an impressive win over South Africa first-up, before pushing New Zealand to the limit. Understandably, they dropped their most-recent game to England, but this looms as a far better opportunity.

Sri Lanka have won one, lost one and had one washed out. They were flogged by New Zealand, but flogged Afghanistan and I am confident that they are a winning chance in this as outsiders.

Tips:

Sri Lanka to Win @ $2.20
Angelo Mathews Sri Lanka Top Runscorer @ $6
Lasith Malinga Sri Lanka Top Wicket Taker @ $3.75

South Africa vs West Indies
7:30pm AEDT

A terrific opportunity looms for both nations when the winless South Africa step out opposite a credible West Indies side at the Rose Bowl in Hampshire tonight. It’s a pretty dire prospect for the Proteas already, but they can remain alive by winning this match. The Windies meanwhile are probably unlucky not to remain undefeated but will be quietly confident of returning to winning form here.

The bookies cannot split them and at publish, we’re looking at $1.91 apiece. There’s a case to be made for both, but I’m actually leaning towards South Africa to secure their first points of the World Cup. The West Indies inability to put away Australia when they had them on the ropes last week was quite worrying, and they face a similarly talented side tonight.

Tips:

South Africa to Win @ $1.91
Chris Gayle West Indies Top Runscorer @ $4
Imran Tahir South Africa Top Wicket Taker @ $3.75

India vs Australia
7:30pm AEST

It looks like being the highlight of the 2019 Cricket World Cup so far and we’re set for a thrilling contest between India and Australia at The Oval tonight. Both nations remain undefeated and a win in this game would not only boost their standing at the World Cup, but also install plenty of confidence for the remaining pool matches.

India have only had the one starts at Cricket World Cup 2019 and that was a comfortable win over South Africa, but given that nation’s performances so far, it’s tough to line up the form. Regardless, Virat Kohli rarely plays poorly against Australia and I’m anticipating a huge performance from the talented captain.

Australia looked down and out against the West Indies on Thursday night, but rallied to pull off a memorable win and hopefully for everyone out here, that was the shaky performance required to find peak condition. Steve Smith mustered a quality knock, while Mitchell Starc was lethal with the ball and with that, delivered on our tip wicket taker tip.

Tips:

Australia to Win @ $2.10
Virat Kohli India Top Runscorer @ $3
Mitchell Starc Australia Top Wicket Taker @ $3.75
Jasprit Bumrah India Top Wicket Taker @ $3.50

England vs Bangladesh
7:30pm AEST

The host nation will be eager to respond to their shock loss to Pakistan, but they’ll need to be at their best to contain a credible Bangladesh side tonight. The Three Lions launched their campaign seemingly in the best way possible, with a smart win over South Africa. Given the lack of fight that nation has shown so far and their subsequent loss, perhaps England aren’t nearly as bulletproof as first expected.

Bangladesh recorded a shock win of their own over South Africa first-up and were unlucky not to make it two in a row against New Zealand last time out. They face another big task here, but they’re clearly a team playing with confidence and an upset win is not out of the question.

Tips:

Joe Top England Top Runscorer @ $3.75
Jofra Archer England Top Wicket Taker @ $4
England Over 4.5 Run 1st Over @ $1.91

Afghanistan vs New Zealand
10:30pm AEST

New Zealand are seeking to keep alive an unbeaten run of form at the Cricket World Cup and they are faced with another terrific opportunity to do so when they step out opposite the winless Afghanistan. The Blackcaps only just got there against Bangladesh last time out, but Bangladesh have clearly brought some fight to the World Cup and New Zealand should only improve from that effort.

Afghanistan have weathered a tough and winless start to the tournament, but every match is a huge ask for the tournament’s minnows and they’ll need to produce arguably a nation-best performance to win this.

Tips:

Rashid Khan Afghanistan Top Wicket Taker @ $2.75
Matt Henry New Zealand Top Wicket Taker @ $4.50
Kane Williamson New Zealand Top Runscorer @ $4

Friday, June 7

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka
7:30pm AEST

Pakistan will carry winning form and huge confidence into tonight’s meeting with Sri Lanka in Bristol.

A first-up loss to the West Indies was well and truly accounted for when Pakistan came out and beat host nation and tournament favourites England. The result was set up with the bat; big performances from the likes of Babar Azam and Mohammad Hafeez virtually took the game away from England, while several players mustered quality performances and wickets with the ball.

Sri Lanka were flogged by New Zealand but beat Afghanistan on Duckworth Lewis last time out, but they’d need to improve tenfold to beat Pakistan.

Tips:

Babar Azam Pakistan Top Runscorer @ $4
Wahab Riaz Pakistan Top Wicket Taker @3.75
Pakistan Over 3.5 Runs in 1st Over @ $1.80
