Ballarat: Race 4 (3:00pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Each Way

No. 8 Icheberu

J: Paul Gatt (54.5kg) T: Jason Warren

ICHIBERU (8) gets the blinkers back on looking to improve on a recent runner-up effort at Morphettville.

This is her first look at the synthetic, but she’s been in super form this mare, winning back to back starts earlier in her prep where she’s carrying a few more kg’s around at metro level.

Back in class now and down at the weights, she’s a definite each-way hope with a few weeks between runs and the barrier offering her every opportunity to get back off the speed.

Ballarat: Race 5 (3:30pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 7 Tangoette

J: Jordyn Weatherley (61kg) T: Tom Dabernig

TANGOETTE (7) looks to be in for a big prep if her maiden win on return at Hamilton was anything to go by.

The mare by Reward For Effort relished the wet track to win by well clear of a length, showing some nice late speed after bolting in to win her leadup trial in similar fashion.

She goes around here on the synthetic for the first time but rates highly, having proven competitive in similar contests to start the year.

Ballarat: Race 6 (4:00pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win Market Mover

No. 5 Glamour Ana

J: Harry Coffey (59.5kg) T: Ben, Will & Jd Hayes

GLAMOUR ANA (5) should be winning, providing she’s got enough left in the tank.

The daughter to Spirit Of Boom has been super honest right through her prep, finally breaking through at start eight to claim her maiden at Bendigo a few weeks ago over a touch further.

She comes here having drawn all the favours from barrier 5 and a similar performance could be on the cards if she’s afforded clear air.

Ballarat: Race 7 (4:30pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 6 Absolute Sunshine

J: Anthony Darmanin (60.5kg) T: Ben, Will & Jd Hayes

There’s a bit to like about ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE (6) back in distance.

Not only are the Hayes boys absolutely flying right now, but this son of Tosen Stardom comes here off a nice run over the mile where he probably deserved to at least run a place after being held up around the 400m mark.

He was a narrow runner-up two back over this track and trip off a five-week break, so with improvement still to come, I’m banking on him making amends.
