EAGLE FARM: Race 2 (12:18pm AEST)
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 3 Pier
The New Zealand visitor Pier looks likely to miss gaining a start in the Stradbroke Handicap but he looks a winning chance in the Listed Wayne Wilson.
Already with a Group One victory to his name having won the 2000 Guineas in his first preparation, there’s no questioning his talent and he lines up off two solid performances where he’s been placed on both occasions.
The runner up at Listed level at Trentham before making his way across the ditch, he hit the line strongly last start to finish third behind Stradbroke favourite War Machine, in the BRC Sprint.
Settling well back off the outside gate, he stuck to the rail and finished off nicely.
The rise to the mile will suit and the low draw can see him settle in striking distance..
ROSEHILL: Race 5 (1:20pm AEST)
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 2 Codetta
Codetta kicked off her campaign with a very encouraging effort over this course and distance and she strips fitter for it.
Slowly away, she settled back in the second half of the field and hit the line strongly to claim second, beaten less than length.
With three wins and three placings from her eight starts, the daughter of Nicconi is quickly building a strong record and she looks very progressive.
She gets in beautifully here with the 3kg claim for Jace McMurray and is unbeaten in two second up appearances.
ROSEHILL: Race 10 (4:25pm AEST)
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 8 Weeping Woman
Weeping Woman was solid to the line when resuming over 1200m here and she strips fitter for the outing.
The Joe Pride trained mare looked to have the race in her grasp as she hit the front 150m out but just peaked late in the heavy conditions.
With two wins from three second up appearances, there’s a lot to like about her here and the slight rise to 1300m certainly suits.
She’ll appreciate getting onto a soft track and with a bit of luck off the wide gate, I think she’ll be hard to beat.
EAGLE FARM: Race 9 (4:30pm AEST)
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 1 Fawkner Park
Fawkner Park lines up trying for back to back successes in the Q22 after proving too good in last year’s edition of this race and he looks on track to do just that.
The former Irish galloper found the line well in his first two runs back behind star mare Via Sistina but didn’t have the best of luck when stepping out in the Queen Elizabeth.
He was terrific finishing the runner up to Antino in testing conditions in the Hollindale Stakes and was equally as impressive last start in the Doomben Cup as he again chased home the local hero into second.
The six year old presents in peak order, the slight rise in trip suits and he draws to enjoy a soft run throughout.
