Q2 Parklands: Race 2 6:47pm AEST
No. 8 Seriously

Seriously looks well-placed in this event and should find it more manageable than her last outing in the Origin Greyhound Series Distance race, where she showed grit to finish fourth after settling in second early.

Trained by Tom Tzouvelis, she was impressive two starts back over this very track and trip, leading from start to finish in a sharp 41.71 seconds.

Even more notable was her run four starts ago, when she nearly upset Origin Distance winner Red Dirt Road, setting the pace all the way and only getting caught in the final strides, clocking a slick 41.47 seconds.

If she brings her A-game, she’ll be tough to run down.

No. 6 Red Dirt Road

Red Dirt Road looks ideally placed in the Chairman’s Cup Final following his powerful win in the Greyhound Origin Series Distance race last Thursday, where he stormed home in 41.59 seconds.

Trained by Tim Britton, this talented chaser is undefeated in three starts over this course and distance, showcasing both speed and stamina.

Five starts ago, he etched his name into the record books by smashing the Q2 Parklands track record with a dominant six-length victory in a scorching 41.03 seconds.

With a clean run, he’ll be right in the mix and is a major threat in this final.

No. 1 Excavation

Excavation, a powerhouse from the renowned Jason Thompson kennel, heads north for the Brisbane Cup with serious credentials.

The son of Fernando Bale has returned from a spell in top form, stringing together three consecutive wins, including a blistering 29.09-second performance over 515m at Sandown.

A multiple Group 1 winner, he also placed fourth in last year’s Brisbane Cup, showing he can mix it with the elite.

Drawn perfectly in box 1, where he’s won four of six starts in the red rug, he’ll be incredibly hard to beat.

No. 3 Jumping Jive

Jumping Jive looks well-suited returning to Masters Grade after holding her own in tougher company.

Three starts back, the daughter of Sennachie showed her strength with a late surge to win over 395m at Albion Park in this grade.

She’s also a proven performer over this course and distance, having led all the way six starts ago to clock a smart 29.75 seconds.

Drawn in box 3, she has the early pace to take control and could be hard to reel in if she finds the front.
