Ortigian Girl returns to the races.

The I Am Invincible filly has just had the two race starts and she was very good on debut, finishing the runner up over 1000m at Cranbourne.

She just weakened late when stepping up 1200m at her follow outing but given time, she looks to have come back in good order with two pleasing trials.

Jye McNeil will do the steering for Anthony and Sam Freedman and the 1100m kick off looks ideal.

Nation State will kick off his campaign and the four year old does boast an impressive first up record.

Unbeaten in both starts over the 1000m, he looks nicely placed here and he’s found the line well in two recent jump outs.

He gets in very nicely with the 4kg claim for Olivia East and with a touch of luck off the tricky draw, I think he’ll be hard to beat.

Narbold strips fitter for the two runs back and looks ready to peak.

The Chris Waller trained gelding finished off nicely when resuming over 1400m on the Lakeside and up to the mile last start, he just held his ground to the line to finish third.

The blinkers go on for the first time and he should find this a touch easier as he drops back in grade.

Eye Of The Eagle resumes and he looks to have returned in fine order with three very encouraging jump outs.

The son of Alpine Eagle holds a solid first up record and this a big drop back in grade from what he was contesting last campaign.

A very capable galloper on his day, there’s a lot to like about him here and he gets in nicely with the 2kg claim for Logan Bates.
