Two monster games ahead on Saturday, starting with the Leafs in action against Florida holding a 2-0 series lead.
The Jets and Stars square off in Game 2 not long after, and our Daily NHL tipster has offered up two of his best plays in our Saturday NHL tips!
Game 3 – TOR Leads 2-0
There’s nothing more dangerous than a 2-0 lead, especially if you’re a fan of the Leafs.
There’s no denying this current Toronto squad looks ready and willing to push deep into the playoffs, led by William Nylander and Max Pacioretty, who have both made a big impact during the first two games so far.
This experienced Panthers side won’t lose much sleep knowing they’ve lost both games by only a goal, but they need to clean up on their sloppy penalties and find a way to get the puck past Toronto’s top-line defence.
The Leafs have done a great job getting bodies in front of the net, which has made Joseph Woll’s life a little easier in place of Anthony Stolarz.
Brad Marchand was cool and collected post-game, stressing the Panthers aren’t about to panic. But with the screws about to tighten on this series and the physicality picking up, I think the Under is the way to go.
Game 2 – DAL Leads 1-0
The Stars held on for a nail-biting 3-2 win in Game 1 on Thursday, led by midseason recruit Mikko Rantanen, who scored a natural hat-trick in the second period.
The Jets, meanwhile, had their chances in the third period, suffering a couple of key icings and out-shooting Dallas 10-4 in the period.
Winnipeg will draw plenty of positives from the loss, but they need to generate more chances on the power play after finishing 0/4 on the night. Capitalising on the man advantage has been a problem at times for the Jets, but after the Stars showed a tendency to relax a little in the third period, I think there’s a chance Winnipeg stings them late.
