Simeon Woods Richardson (MIN) vs Cade Povich (BAL)
Not a bad price here for the Twins, who have suddenly woken up since they started the season below .500 through March and April.
A healthy Byron Buxton has helped Minnesota win eight of its last 10, while Ty France is contributing nicely with a team-leading .325 on-base percentage.
The Orioles’ offence isn’t quite as dangerous as it was last year, and their rotation remains one of the worst in baseball.
With Twins starter Simeon Woods Richardson coming off two short but solid outings against the Guardians and this same Orioles lineup this month, I think this is a great spot to back the Twins.
Jonathan Cannon (CHW) vs Andrew Abbott (CIN)
Three wins from their last 10 has the Reds heading backwards in the NL Central as they continue to struggle to find runs at the plate.
Things are just as bleak on the mound with Hunter Greene on the IL with a groin strain, but there are positive signs coming from 25-year-old left-hander Andrew Abbott, who has thrown two scoreless starts already this month against the Cardinals and Braves.
Not to anyone’s surprise, the White Sox rank second-last in runs scored over the last seven days, so there are a few convincing reasons to back the Reds and Abbott to lead the way.
Max Fried (NYY) vs Bryan Woo (SEA)
Really interesting pitching matchup here between two trusted top-of-the-rotation starters.
Max Fried had a no-hitter going through six innings two weeks ago against the Rays, backing that start up with another solid seven-inning, one-run performance against the Padres last week.
Bryan Woo has been a little more up and down, but his 1.38 ERA at home this year ranks among the best in the league.
The Mariners have been a solid team against lefties this year, sitting Top 10 in runs scored. At the same time, they rank just as high in strikeout rate, so all things considered, the Under is the way I’m leaning here.
