Thursday's Home Run Bets

Elly De La Cruz @ Pittsburgh Pirates

  • It’s been a slow-ish start for De La Cruz this season, but he’s starting to find some form with a pair of doubles during Tuesday’s win over the Pirates. He’s taken two lefties deep already this year, so this looks a nice spot to back him to go yard against Andrew Heaney.

Marcell Ozuna @ Washington Nationals

  • Ozuna owns 11 hits off Nats righty Trevor Williams, including a double. His hardest hit registered just shy of 92 MPH off the bat.
Cincinnati Reds @ Pittsburgh Pirates (2:35am)
Tip: Reds to Win @ $1.78 + Pirates Under the Run Total

Brady Singer (CIN) vs Andrew Heaney (PIT)

Another favourable spot for the Reds to make up some ground in the NL Central against a Pirates team that has scored only 12 runs over the last seven days.

Brady Singer’s ERA has jumped to 4.43 after giving up three earned in a win over the Guardians last week, the same number he allowed to the Buccos when he gave up only two hits in his April 11 start earlier in the year.

Baltimore Orioles @ Milwaukee Brewers (3:10am)
Tip: Brewers Under 4.5 Runs

Tomoyuki Sugano (BAL) vs Chad Patrick (MIL)

It’s been an incredibly tough week for the struggling O’s, who just fired manager Brandon Hyde on Monday after getting off to a 15-30 start to the season.

Back to back losses to the Brewers have followed, which is saying something when you consider Milwaukee has hardly been setting the world alight with their own run-scoring of late.

Sugano has been a steady name in the middle of Baltimore’s rotation, particularly on the road, where he’s allowed only seven earned runs through four starts.

I probably couldn’t entertain the Orioles to win, but there’s a bet to be made on Milwaukee’s total if Sugano produces his best.

Los Angeles Angels @ Athletics (12:05pm)
Tip: Athletics to Win @ $1.62

Jack Kochanowicz (LAA) vs JP Sears (ATH)

The Angels have been an incredibly fun story over the last week, but even after sweeping the Dodgers, I can’t have them in this spot against the A’s.

JP Sears is by no means a reliable arm, but Los Angeles’ numbers (dead last in runs scored and hits) against lefties make this a good spot to bet the A’s.
