We’re back racing at Eagle Farm this Saturday and with only light showers expected on Friday and Saturday, we can breathe a sigh a relief.
Heavy rain has seen the abandonment of several race meetings in South East Queensland over the past two weeks but we know the ‘Farm drains as well any any track in Australia, so it’s safe to say the ten race program will be going ahead.
We’ve done the form for you and you can find our detailed selections here.
Race 1: (11:33pm AEDT) BRC MILLINERS MARKET 11 APRIL QTIS 2YO HANDICAP 1300M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 1 Thee Creek
Thee Creek has performed very well in both runs to date and looks well placed to break through.
Making his debut in the Aquis Jewel Prelude, the son of Better Than Ready did a few things wrong but was strong through the line, just finding one better on the day.
He then stepped out in the $500k Jewel and did it tough off the wide draw but stuck on gamely to finish fourth.
He strips fitter, he should find this easier and with luck off the wide draw, I think he’ll be hard to beat.
Race 2: (12:08pm AEDT) RACECOURSE VILLAGE CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1805M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 5 Mannerheim
Mannerheim was doing his best work late last start over this track and distance and looks well placed to get the job done this time.
The Chris Waller trained gelding had been struggling to fire in stronger races in Melbourne prior to heading north but his two runs here have been full of merit.
Settling back at the tail last start, he finished off strongly under the 58kgs and he’s sure to appreciate a big drop in the weights.
Emily Lang jumps aboard and her claim will see him carry just 54kgs.
He’s hard fit, he performs well on soft tracks and with clear running, I think he’ll be too strong for them late.
Race 3: (12:42pm AEDT) BRC MEMBERSHIP BM70 HANDICAP 2200M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 3 Roller Coaster
Roller Coaster has been placed in three of his four starts this campaign and looks to have found a winnable race.
The son of Ocean Park just wanted to overrace when the tempo slackened here two starts back and last time, out to 2400m at the Sunshine Coast, he settled at the tail and shot through along the inside but just looked to peak late.
He drops back in grade, back to 2200m looks ideal and Michael Rodd stays in the saddle.
Race 4: (1:18pm AEDT) XXXX SIDELINE BEER GARDEN 3 MAY BM85 HANDICAP 1500M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 2 Mississippi Prince
Mississippi Prince just peaked on his run late when resuming over 1400m at the Gold Coast last start and he will have taken plenty of benefit from the outing.
Jumping away well, he settled second but had the job of chasing a tearaway leader and was then hampered in the straight.
The Foxwedge gelding hasn’t seen the winner’s stall for some time but he’s performed well in much stronger races and should find this easier.
The rise in trip will suit and he’ll love getting onto a track with plenty of give.
A few gear changes signal intent and he gets in nicely with Cody Collis’ 2kg claim.
Race 5: (1:53pm AEDT) THE GIBSON OPEN HANDICAP 1805M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 5 Anemacore
Anemacore was a touch disappointing last start when sent out a short pried favourite but I’m happy to stick with him.
The Shaun Dwyer trained gelding has always showed plenty of natural talent and he was brilliant when winning first up here but just wasn’t suited around Doomben in two subsequent starts.
Out to this trip last time, he settled midfield and looked like he was going to sprint past them 150m out, but just failed to let down as expected.
He’s a winner this track and distance, he handles all surfaces and if he’s at his best, he should prove too good for them.
He does rise in grade but will carry just 54kgs and Jim Byrne is sure to afford him every chance.
Race 6: (2:28PM AEDT) LADBROKES CALCUTTA & LUNCHEON 13 JUNE BM78 HANDICAP 1000M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 13 Mighty
Mighty finished off strongly last start at her first appearance since returning to the Tony Gollan stable.
The well named mare had spent the previous twelve months down in Victoria under the care of Peter Moody and Kath Coleman where she performed well against solid company.
A winner on 1000m on the Sandown Lakeside before returning home, she just found herself too far back over the 1100m at the Gold Coast but powered home down the outside to finish fifth.
She drops back in grade and has great record over this shorter trip.
The soft track is a query but if she can produce her best, I think she’s the one to beat.
Race 7: (3:07pm AEDT) STRADBROKE SEASON BOOK NOW BM78 HANDICAP 1400M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 1 Blakmax
Blakmax just did enough when resuming over 1200m here and he’ll better for the run.
Not a noted first up performer, the Brazen Beau gelding does boast a terrific second up record and he’ll certainly appreciate the rise to 1400m.
A very consistent galloper, he’s never far from the action and he looks ideally placed here in this grade of race.
Emily Lang will do the steering for her master Tony Gollan and her 1.5kg claim sees him in nicely.
Race 8: (3:47pm AEDT) XXXX CLASS 6 PLATE 1200M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 15 Rhythm Of Love
Rhythm of Love makes the trip to Brisbane to kick off his campaign.
Prepared at Randwick by John O’Shea and Tom Charlton, the gelding has shown plenty of natural talent and was the runner up here in the Group 3 Fred Best during the Winter Carnival.
He’s got a great first up record and excels on wet tracks, so there’s a lot to like about him here.
He’s been strong through the line in two recent trials and draws to get the right run under Andrew Mallyon.
Race 9: ( 4:27pm AEDT) SKY RACING QTIS 3YO QUALITY HANDICAP 1200M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 11 King Potter
King Potter resumes.
The Rothesay gelding has had three race starts and looks to have plenty of upside. He failed to fire on debut and given a break, returned in fine style to score a dominant 5.5 length maiden win over the 1110m here.
Up in grade to an open three year old handicap at his following outing, he travelled well outside the leader, hitting the front at the top of the straight and was only collared over the final 50m.
The form out of that race has been franked and he lines up here off a comfortable 1050m trial win.
He does have a tricky draw to overcome but with even luck, I think he’ll be right in this.
Race 10: (5:05pm AEDT) LADBROKES FORM GENIUS OPEN HANDICAP 1200M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 1 Comrade Rosa
Comrade Rosa returns to the races.
The Tony Gollan trained mare was racing well in Melbourne during the Spring and although she hasn’t won for a while, she has continued to be competitive at a high level.
Dropping back in grade, she looks well placed kicking off here and she did find the line well in a recent Deagon trial.
She’s a two time winner first up, she loves it here at her home track and Ryan Maloney knows how to get the best out of her.
