Race 2 (1:30pm AEST)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 6 Controlled Zone

J: Dean Yendall (59kg) T: Ciaron Maher

Controlled Zone has yet to miss a top four spot in his nine career starts and looks to have found a winnable race.

Placed at his past five outings, the son of Written Tycoon is ultra consistent and he’s hard fit.

He was just run down late after leading over 1200m here two runs back and last time, back to 1100m, he settled back second last and charged home to claim second, beaten only a head.

Ethan Brown jumps aboard and with luck off the wide draw, I think he can get the job done.

Race 4 (2:40pm AEST)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 12 Pharoah’s Glory

J: Will Gordon (57kg) T: Patrick Kearney

Pharoah’s Glory has been the runner up in both runs to date and she looks well placed stepping out to the mile.

The daughter of American Pharoah made a good impression on debut over 1300m, travelling in behind the leader and closing off strongly.

Up to 1450m at her latest, she settled in a clear second position chasing a strong leader and tried hard to reel her in and whilst she couldn’t quite get there, she did hold a six length margin back to the rest.

She’s sure to appreciate stepping out over that bit further and from barrier three she is set to receive all the favours.

Race 5 (3:15pm AEST)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 2 Subrising

J: Jaylah Kennedy (61kg) T: Nigel Blackiston

Subrising comes off a very encouraging last start effort over the mile at Caulfield and she drops back sharply in grade.

Settling well back in the field of twelve, she made up good ground when presented in open air and finished off strongly into fourth.

She has won over this track and trip previously, she’ll relish the soft conditions and Jaylah Kennedy takes 1.5kgs off with the claim.

Race 8 (5:00pm AEST)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 7 Reina Isabella

J: Zac Spain (57kg) T: Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr

Reina Isabella has performed well in all five starts and she looks progressive.

The daughter of Brutal recorded her maiden win on a heavy track at Pakenham before heading to the paddock and she returned in fine order, with a solid first up effort at Moonee Valley before going down narrowly last start.

She presents at peak fitness, the 1400m again looks ideal and she’s proven in all conditions.
