No. 11 Madiyya

J: Daniel Stackhouse (56kg) T: Ben, Will & Jd Hayes

There was a lot to like about the debut run of Madiyya and she’ll be better for it.

Over 1200m at Pakenham, the Hayes trained filly was taken back to last off the wide gate, she travelled well and when brought to the outside, she powered home late to grab second.

With natural improvement and the rise to 1400m, the daughter of Super Seth looks the one to beat.

No. 5 Volatile

J: Luke Cartwright (59kg) T: Lyn Tolson & Leonie Proctor

Volatile has only recorded the one placing from his six starts but that was in the $1m Golden Gift and he has been tested at stakes level.

Kicking off for the new stable, the Snitzel three year old was previously prepared by Peter Snowden and he’s contested much stronger races, so he’s sure to find this easier.

He hit the line well in a recent jump out and will be afforded every chance from the low draw.

No. 7 Give Faith

J: Daniel Stackhouse (56kg) T: John McArdle

Give Faith has been placed in both runs back this preparation and looks well placed to get the job done here.

The daughter of Alabama Express was very good when resuming over 1000m at Cranbourne, just finding one better on the night and last time, she was held up in the early part of the straight but finished off strongly to grab third.

She presents here at peak fitness and I think she’ll be hard to beat.

No. 6 Thats Archies Girl

J: Ben Allen (59.5kg) T: Ben, Will & Jd Hayes

Thats Archies Girl won well when resuming over 1209m at Yarra Valley and she looks to have plenty of upside.

Setting back off the leader, she travelled well and shot through along the inside to get the better of Linkvue, who has since has come out and won.

The Per Incanto filly just had the two starts prior and didn’t have the best of luck on debut but it was a solid effort to finish fifth at Group 3 level.

Last campaign, she failed to fire in a Ballarat maiden but given time, she’s returned in top order.

Ben Allen stays aboard and the rise to 1400m looks ideal.
