Daily NHL Tips – Wednesday, April 30

Four games are on offer this Wednesday with our daily NHL tipster, Ryan Cook, providing plays on Game 5 between the Senators and Leafs, before the Kings host the Oilers.

Ottawa Senators @ Toronto Maple Leafs (9:08am)
Tip: Leafs to Win & Under 5.5 Goals @ $3.10

Game 5 – TOR Leads 3-1

There will be a few nervous fans in attendance in Toronto after the Sens forced a Game 5 with an overtime winner on Sunday.

The Leafs have been in this spot before, but there’s really no reason to panic after they were arguably the better team in Game 4, finishing with over 40 shots and dominating across the second and third periods.

The core four needs to have more of an impact, and it’s worth noting Auston Matthews didn’t practice on Tuesday. But with Matthew Knies and a handful of defenders chipping in with goals, there’s every reason the Leafs can still secure an extended break before either Florida or Tampa Bay comes calling.

Edmonton Oilers @ Los Angeles Kings (12:08pm)
Tip: Kings to Win @ $1.72

Game 5 – Series Tied 2-2

The Kings will be hoping a return to home ice can help heal some of the wounds they suffered on Monday.

This series should probably be over by now, but after losing 7-4 on Saturday late in the third period, things are now all square following Edmonton’s overtime Game 4 victory.

Like the Leafs, the Kings have been the better side in this series, taking full advantage of the Oilers’ poor goaltending to pile on 19 goals through the first four games.

Edmonton has every right to feel confident with momentum now on their side, but it’s worth remembering the Kings were the best team in the league on home ice during the regular season.
