Wednesday’s Daily NHL tips offer up two plays with the Leafs taking on the Sens, and the Lightning and Panthers kicking off their series in Florida.
Game 2 – TOR Leads 1-0
The Leafs cruised to a comfortable 6-2 victory in Game 1 on Monday with the core four leading the way with eight points.
Ottawa was its own worst enemy giving away crucial penalties in the first two periods, despite outshooting the Leafs 33-24.
A cleaner game from the Sens would help them get back in this series, while a bigger impact from Tim Stutzle and Brady Tkachuk would go a long way to keeping this game tight.
Game 1
This should be a hard-fought series between two state rivals who simply don’t like each other.
The Lightning are the savvy, experienced playoff team, while the Cats are the defending champs hoping to bounce back from last week’s 5-1 loss to Tampa Bay on home ice.
This is basically a pick’em game as far as the betting, and even the series is concerned. The Cats are potentially the best two-way team with the likes of Sam Bennett returning to the ice, but the Bolts have momentum and a human version of a brick wall on their side in the form of Andrei Vasilevskiy.
I’ll lean the way of Tampa in this one, but I still think overall, this series goes seven.
