Champions League Semi-Finals, 1st Leg Tips & Preview

Arsenal vs Paris Saint-Germain
Arsenal and Under 4.5 Goals $2.40

The Gunners look to take a step towards reaching their first UCL final in 20 years when they play host to PSG on Wednesday morning (AEST).

Neither Arsenal nor the Parisians have ever lifted the European Trophy, at least one of these sides will be granted a chance at making history, but which one?

The North Londoners enter this fixture off the back of destroying reigning champions, Real Madrid 5-1 on aggregate across both quarterfinal legs, giving themselves the belief they can see off all contenders.

Meanwhile, PSG will fancy themselves here after knocking out Liverpool (2-1) in the Round of 16, before seeing off Aston Villa (5-3) in their quarterfinal tie.

There’s is not too much H2H history between this pair to draw on, they’ve played three competitive fixtures, two draws in 2016, and a 2-0 victory to the Gunners in this season’s UCL league phase.

Arsenal are unbeaten in all six of their UCL home fixtures this season (5W,1D), keeping a clean sheet in five of the six games at the Emirates.

Alternatively, the Parisians have lost three of their seven away games this campaign (5W), including the 2-0 defeat at the Emirates, that being said, they surprised everyone in the Round of 16, claiming a 2-0 victory at Anfield.

The Gunners have not conceded more than one goal at home in all comps across the entire season, and off the back of another resolute defensive performance, I have them taking a lead into the second leg.

FC Barcelona vs Inter Milan
SGM: Barca to Win & Yamal to Score or Assit $2.61

Next up, competition favourites Barcelona ($3.00), play host to current Serie A title holders, Inter Milan.

Barca enters this game on cloud nine after winning the Copa Del Rey final against arch rivals Real Madrid (3-2), while taking their unbeaten run at home to 15 games across all comps (12W,3D).

Alternatively, the Inter limp into this fixture off the back of three straight defeats, getting bundled out of the Coppa Italia semi by their rivals AC (1-4), and relinquishing their place atop of the Serie A with two league defeats.

Barca has hosted Inter on five previous occasions in the UCL, winning four of those fixtures (1D).

I’m taking the home side to prevail once again, combined with a goal or assist from star boy, Lamine Yamal.
