San Gabriel has been the runner up in three of his five starts and looks to well placed to break through.

The son of Savabeel faded late when resuming over 1500m but was gallant in defeat last start when coming extremely wide upon turning into the home straight at Wyong.

He’s fit, he draws to receive all the favours and looks the one to beat.

Written Scandal was brilliant when winning first up over 1100m at Wyong.

The Written Tycoon filly settled outside the leader and gave them windburn as she kicked at the way at the top of the straight to score by almost six lengths.

She was too bad to true last time, when stepping out to 1200m she was given every chance but was under pressure 250m out and beat just one runner home.

Whilst there was no obvious issue post race I’m happy to forgive.

She gets in nicely here with the 2kg claim for Braith Nock and draws to get all the favours.

Kenmare Bay is racing well, having finished the runner up in both starts this time in and he looks suited out to this trip.

He finished off strongly over 1350m when resuming at Wyong and last time, up to the mile there, he settled in the second half of the field and powered home to get within a neck of the winner.

Bred to stay all day, the son of New Bay should have no trouble stretching out to this trip and if he can settle within striking distance, I think he’ll be too strong for them late.

Belle Detelle comes straight off a maiden win but the filly looks to have plenty of upside.

Placed at her first three outings, she’s shown good natural talent and the form around her is solid.

Stepping out over the mile last start on the Sandown Hillside, she gave a good kick in the straight to pull away and score comfortably.

With a month since that last run, she’s been kept up to the mark with a recent rial and she looks nicely placed here.
