ROSEHILL: Race 2 (1:05pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 2 Nepotism

J: Tyler Schiller (58kg) T: M, W & J Hawkes

There was a lot to like about the debut performance of Nepotism and he lines up here after failing to gain a start in the Golden Slipper, in which he was the first emergency.

The son of Brutal made his first raceday appearance in the Todman and didn’t have a lot of room in the straight but still finished off strongly into third behind Tentyris and subsequent Slipper runner up Wodeton.

The way he found the line suggests the rise to 1400m will suit and with natural improvement he looks a major player here.

Tyler Schiller got a feel for him last time, and he stays aboard and barrier three should see the colt afforded every chance.

ROSEHILL: Race 4 (2:15pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 1 Ceolwulf

J: Chad Schofield (59.5kg) T: Joseph Pride

Ceolwulf is on the quick up after contesting the George Ryder last Saturday where he produced a terrific effort to finish a close third.

The dual Group 1 winner kicked off his campaign with an encouraging effort in the Apollo Stakes before a slight mishap saw him dropping back in trip to contest the Canterbury Stakes at his following outing.

He relished the rise to 1500m last time and I think he’ll be even better getting out to 2000m here.

Runner up in both the Rosehill Guineas and ATC Derby, he’s already proven himself out over a staying trip and he’s sure to find this easier than what he’s been contesting.

ROSEHILL: Race 9 (5:15pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Each Way Market Mover

No. 5 Encap

J: Nash Rawiller (56.5kg) T: Gary Portelli

Encap returned with an even effort in the Canterbury Stakes, and he looks ready to strike second up in the 2025 Doncaster Prelude.

The four year old has only won the two races from his nineteen career outings but he has continued to race well at a high level.

He boasts a terrific second up record and his best performances have been here at Rosehill.

The slight rise to 1500m will suit and Nash Rawiller, who trialled him prior to his return, jumps aboard raceday for the first time.

FLEMINGTON: Race 6 (3:05pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 8 Pisanello

J: Jamie Melham (54kg) T: James Cummings

Pisanello resumed with an eye catching performance in the Maurice McCarten Stakes as he flashed home down the outside to get within a neck of the all-the-way winner.

Unbeaten in three second up appearances, the Godolphin galloper looks primed to strike in the ATA/Bob Hoysted Handicap.

He has won at his only start down the Flemington straight, Jamie Melham jumps aboard and I think he’ll be powering over the top of them late.
