Daily NHL Tips – Wednesday, March 26

Philadelphia Flyers @ Toronto Maple Leafs, 10:08am
Tip: Back the Leafs to Cover the Line + Auston Matthews/Matthew Knies Anytime Goal Scorers

The Leafs head back to Toronto to face off against one of their favourite opponents.

Craig Berube’s side has won nine of its last 10 over the Flyers, and they should be playing with a sense of urgency after dropping points in Nashville on Sunday in a disappointing 5-2 loss.

The two-day break should be enormous for Toronto’s chances, particularly with Philly playing their third game in four nights.

For some goal scorer value, you could do a lot worse than Auston Matthews and Matthew Knies. Both scored when these two sides met in early January, and both have combined to score nine goals over the last month.

Nashville Predators @ Carolina Hurricanes, 10:38am
Tip: Over 5.5 Goals

Hitting the Over here with both the Preds and Canes’ playing their third game in four nights.

Nashville fell 4-1 to the Blues on Monday, while Carolina put up five in a blowout win over the Ducks in Anaheim.

Seven of the last 10 have gone Over the Total between these two, so the 5.5 goal total looks enticing.

Detroit Red Wings @ Colorado Avalanche, 12:08pm
Tip: Back the Avs to Cover the Line + Valeri Nichuskin Anytime Goal Scorer

This is one of the bigger rest mismatches worth taking advantage of on Wednesday’s slate.

The Avs have had two days to prepare following Sunday’s win in Montreal, while the Red Wings are playing on no rest after beating Utah 5-1 on the road last night.

The travel, plus Colorado’s 8-1-1 record over the last 10 makes this a tough trip for the visitors, not to mention Valeri Nichuskin, who has scored six goals already this month.
