There’s just a handful of weeks left of the regular season and the top half of the table is bloody close!
We are treated to another six matches of football this weekend including a bottom of the table “derby”
Here is my preview for Round 23 of the 2024/25 A-League Season!
Fifth placed Adelaide will host Macarthur on Friday night and just quietly, the Bulls are in a monster nosedive right now.
Four losses in their last five including a three game losing streak, Macarthur are a whopping $4.25 to get the upset here.
Adelaide are easily the better team here for me, probably don’t need to overthink this one.
It’s even money for these two sides on Saturday evening, $2.50 a piece and I believe that has a lot to do with the Wanderers’ three game win streak.
They’re one of the form teams in the comp at the moment with four wins in their last five, showcasing some strong form at the right point in the season and I’m warming to the idea of backing the Wanderers here.
Western Sydney has lost seven of its last eight night matches at CommBank Stadium following a win but I’m not putting much stock in that betting stat, seems like a reach to me.
WSW to win.
We have ourselves a bottom of the table clash on Saturday night, it’s Perth v Brisbane.
With the greatest respect, I’m probably giving this game a miss, surely I can find something more enjoyable to do with my evening than watch this garbage.
However I am paid to give a tip for it and how can you not like the Glory at home.
$2.65 underdogs despite having double the wins as Brisbane, it screams value to me.
Up the Glory.
CCM have lost three on the trot and are now up against the Australian football juggernauts that are Auckland FC.
Auckland still have just the two losses to their name in club history and I don’t see them picking up a third here against the Mariners.
Three of Central Coast’s last four away matches have resulted in a draw but three of Central Coast’s last four away matches weren’t against the club with the greatest all time win percentage in world football.
I promise I’ll eventually run out of these gags.
Auckland to win.
Despite being second on the ladder, Western United are not as short in the betting markets as you’d expect.
Newcastle are ninth on the ladder but do have three wins and no losses in their last five, I can see the bookies argument for a relatively close game betting wise but I look at this fixture and see nothing but value for Western United.
Another one I don’t think you should over think, take the value.
Their needs to be an investigation into Wellington’s fall off.
I’ve never seen something so drastic happen to a side I love (from a betting perspective) in such a short time.
The ‘Nix are $6.40 against the Sky Blues and quite frankly unbackable.
Four losses on the trot for the Kiwis, the second fewest amount of goals in the league.
Nothing about them sparks joy.
Sydney in theory should make light work of them here and that’s what I’m willing to back.
