Daily Racing Tips – Wednesday, February 26

ROSEHILL: Race 1 (2:20pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 7 President

J: James McDonald (58.5kg) T: Chris Waller

Our daily racing tips for Wednesday kick off with President returning to the races in the first at Rosehill.

A son of I Am Invincible, the colt has just had the three race starts and wasn’t far away on debut at Warwick Farm.

He then contested the Group 2 Skyline Stakes where he failed to threaten and given a short break, he headed to Brisbane where he produced a top effort to finish third in the Group 2 Spirit Of Boom Classic.

He’s been strong through the line in two recent trials and gets the services of James McDonald.

ROSEHILL: Race 7 (5:50pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 1 House of Cards

J: Regan Bayliss (60kg) T: Michael Freedman

House of Cards has been placed in both starts this campaign and looks ready to peak.

The Exceed And Excel gelding hit the line strongly when resuming over 1400m at Warwick Farm and last start, over that same track and trip, he shot for home at the top of the straight but just peaked late.

He strips fitter and gets the blinkers on for the first time.

SANDOWN: Race 1 (3:40pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win Market Mover

No. 8 Belle Detelle

J: Blake Shinn (57kg) T: Chris Waller

Belle Detelle has been placed in all three starts and looks well placed to break through.

She made a good impression on debut at Seymour, charging home late to finish a close second over 1300m.

The Chris Waller trained filly was solid again at her second outing, just bumping into the smart Shanwah, who is now a Group 2 Autumn Classic winner.

She was doing her best work late last time over 1500m on the Caulfield Heath and I think she’ll relish getting out onto the bigger track here.

Blake Shinn stays aboard, and she’s set to receive all the favours from barrier two

SANDOWN: Race 8 (7:30pm AEDT)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Each Way

No. 8 Hughes

J: Beau Mertens (58.5kg) T: Gavin Bedggood

Hughes kicked off for the new stable with a very encouraging effort over 1400m at Seymour and he will have taken good improvement from the outing.

Settling in the box seat, he didn’t have much room in the early part of the straight and just held his ground to the line once clear.

His second up record doesn’t look flash but he has had genuine excuses.

The 1400m is certainly his sweet spot and if he can slot in and find cover early, I think he’ll be strong late.
