Daily Racing Tips – Tuesday, February 4

Real Intrigue drops back to 2100m coming off a decent effort at Pakenham a couple of weeks ago. 

Luke Oliver’s gelding settled midfield and held his ground all the way to the line, a solid showing considering he was racing off a four-week break. 

The Real Impact five-year-old has a fitness edge deep into his prep and does own a nice win at BM58 level three back at Moe.  

No Rumours is an intriguing prospect going around at a nice price for Paul Preusker. 

The Irish-bred gelding is second-up and probably would have won fresh at Stawell if he didn’t blow the start, eventually making up a stack of ground on his way to running third. 

This is just his third race start, so he’s still got room for improvement. But from a nice soft gate with Harry Grace retaining the ride, there’s a bit to like about their chances. 

Oak Park Rebel looks set to peak fourth-up for Paul Preusker. 

The six-year-old son of Rebel Raider resumed to finish runner-up at Murray Bridge, before going on to win three weeks later after showing a handy turn of foot over the final stages. 

It looked as though he was wanting longer than 1200m when storming the line late at Sandown last start, so this rise to 1400m should suit. Back a level, he just needs to handle the extra weight to finish first past the post. 

Final Countdown could cap off a huge afternoon for the Preusker Team. 

This lightly-raced four-year-old resumed in terrific order last start at Hamilton, winning over the same trip where she let rip with a huge turn of foot over the final 100m. 

Whether she’s wanting further now is a fair question, but proven on a wet track in a field that lacks depth, she should be just as hard to beat.
