Bendigo: Race 3 (1:30pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 5 Macha

J: Jordan Childs (57kg) T: John McArdle

Macha appeared in need of the run when tackling 1100m fresh at Geelong last month.

The filly by I Am Invincible was fast into stride and not far away from making every post a winner, leading right up until the 100m mark where she was grabbed late by Cripps.

This is a sharp rise in trip out to 1400m, but it’s worth noting she has raced over further in the past.

With good early speed engaged and Jordan Childs retaining the ride, she’s unlikely to be a maiden much longer.

Bendigo: Race 4 (2:05pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Each Way Market Mover

No. 4 Mercante

J: Jordan Childs (60kg) T: Nigel Blackiston

Mercante should have confidence on his side after winning over slightly further at Pakenham last start.

The lightly-raced Dundeel four-year-old did well to stalk the speed in the early stages before taking over at the 300m mark, punching clear for a narrow win right on the line.

Jordan Childs takes over now and the pair look likely to adopt similar front-running tactics getting back slightly in trip to 2400m.

Bendigo: Race 5 (2:45pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 1 Rewards And More

J: Logan Bates (63.5kg) T: Jerome Hunter

Rewards And More looks to have a class edge here over most of his rivals.

The step up to 1200m at Flemington last start was clearly a big ask for Jerome Hunter’s four-year-old, but with two wins from his last four starts, it’s tough to find fault with his form this time in work.

A strong winner here fresh over shorter, getting back to 1100m should be ideal with the 2kg claim under Logan Bates put to good use.

Bendigo: Race 7 (3:50pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Each Way

No. 10 Dane On Tour

J: John Allen (57.5kg) T: David & Coral Feek

Dane On Tour has each-way claims in the last

It’s been just over a year since the Feek-trained mare last won a race, but she has been competitive in tougher company than this recently.

By Rebel Dane, she showed some nice late speed to grab a place two back at Flemington and was unlucky not to find the money again at The Valley last time out where she was held up down the straight.

Rock-hard fit and just needing a touch of luck from the gate, she could easily threaten in a race lacking depth.
