No. 4 Hell Of A Lad

J: Aaron Bullock (57.5kg) T: Kris Lees

Hell Of A Lad just needs some luck from his wide barrier to be a contender.

Trained by Kris Lees and sired by Hellbent, he appears primed to peak in his third run this prep after placing at Muswellbrook in his first race back, followed by a wide run that saw him weaken over 1300m at Taree.

He does have a habit of overracing, but if Aaron Bullock can get him to settle, he should be a strong chance on firm ground.

Scone: Race 4 (2:30pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 2 Great Point

J: Leeshelle Small (61kg) T: Rodney Northam

Great Point looks well-placed to tackle the same track and distance again for trainer Rodney Northam.

The lightly-raced mare by Bull Point put in a strong performance when finishing runner-up here a few weeks ago, narrowly missing after a three-week break in a close finish.

This time, she benefits from a 3kg claim and a favorable draw in barrier 2, setting her up nicely for another bold showing.

Scone: Race 6 (3:50pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 4 Sir Remlap

J: Mitch Stapleford (57.5kg) T: Scott Singleton

Sir Remlap is maintaining strong form deep into his preparation.

The lightly raced four-year-old by Rubick is chasing a hat trick after a dominant win at Randwick last start, courtesy of a brilliant ride from Mitch Stapleford.

They reunite here with a 1.5kg claim, and if they can secure the right run off the pace, they should be right in the mix at the finish.

Scone: Race 7 (4:30pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 1 Saratoga Power

J: Braith Nock (63kg) T: Brett Cavanough

Saratoga Power resumes for Brett Cavanough following a recent trial at Scone.

The four-year-old gelding by Written Tycoon might take improvement from this run, but the 1000m distance looks ideal after finishing just 1.7 lengths off the winner at Randwick to close his maiden prep last year.

He’ll appreciate a dry track, and from a low draw, he’s likely to settle nicely just behind the speed early on.
