Race 1: (12:30pm AEDT) MIDWAY HANDICAP BM72 (1500M)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Each Way

No. 10 Rush Attack

J: Zac Lloyd (55kg) T: Nathan Doyle

First up in our 2025 Silver Slipper Day tips we have Rush Attack coming off a solid first up effort over 1400m at Newcastle and he will have taken plenty of benefit from the outing.

Settling in behind the leader, he gave a good kick when asked for an effort and charged late to go down in a bob of heads.

He strips fitter and will relish the extra 100m here.

Yet to miss a top two spot in five starts since joining the Nathan Doyle yard, the Brave Smash gelding continues to improve and is set to receive every chance off the good gate under Zac Lloyd.

Race 2: (1:05pm AEDT) TAB HIGHWAY HANDICAP CLASS 3 1300M

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 6 Wal's Angels

J: Alysha Collett (56kg) T: Nick Olive

Wal’s Angels has been racing well and presents at peak fitness.

The Harry Angel gelding was unlucky when resuming over 1200m at Randwick and he was very good second up, as he worked home strongly into second over the 1400m here.

He just failed to let down under the big weight last time so he’ll certainly appreciate getting back here with the 56kgs on his back and he’s drawn to get the right run.

Race 3: (1:40pm AEDT) ROSEHILL BOLWING CLUB HANDICAP BM78 1300M

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 5 Step Aside

J: Zac Lloyd (57kg) T: Chris Waller

It was a solid last start effort from Step Aside after things went awry for the gelding at his first up appearance.

When resuming at Randwick the Chris Waller trained galloper lost rider Tommy Berry after receiving severe interference when a runner on his outside clipped heels.

Stepping out to 1350m last time, he settled well back and finished off nicely into third.

The blinkers were applied for that first up outing but they were removed last start and I’m happy to see them back on here.

Zac Lloyd will do the steering and the inside draw can see him settle within striking distance.

Race 4: (2:15pm AEDT) RANVET HANDICAP BM78 1100M

Win

No. 8 Polyglot

Polyglot proved too good when resuming over this track and distance and was only narrowly beaten last start when stepping out to 1200m.

He looked the winner 100m out as he shot for home and was just collared in the final bounds but the performance was full of merit as he was found to have pulled up with mild heat stress.

The recently gelded son of Lonhro showed plenty of natural talent in his first preparation and looks to have returned bigger and better.

The blinkers go on for the first time and slight drop back to 1100m looks ideal.

Zac Lloyd will take the mount for team Godolphin and with luck from the wide draw, I think he’ll be too strong for them late.

Race 5: (2:50pm AEDT) BISLEY WORKWEAR MILLE FOX STAKES F&M SW GROUP 2 1300M

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win Market Mover

No. 1 Makarena

J: Tyler Schiller (56kg) T: M, W & J Hawkes

Makarena returns to the races and a recent trial win suggests she’s come back in top order.

The daughter of Snitzel has continued to perform well in quality races and she’s certainly proven herself a high-class mare.

She’s yet to win first up but has always kicked off over those shorter trips so the 1300m looks a big plus and she gets in extremely well under the set weights conditions.

Possessing good early speed, the tricky draw shouldn’t prove too much of hindrance and she’s sure to be strong late.

Race 6: (3:25pm AEDT) TAB SILVER SLIPPER STAKES 2YO SW GROUP 2 1100M

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 3 Wodeton

J: Kerrin McEvoy (56.5kg) T: Chris Waller

It’s hard to go past Wodeton here after the colt’s emphatic debut performance last month.

Now the current Golden Slipper betting favourite, the son of Wooton Bassett was sent out at a very short quote over the 1100m and he well and truly justified the support as he accelerated away to score by just under four lengths.

He’s since been given a nice trial to keep him ticking over and with natural improvement, he looks the one to beat.

Race 7: (4:00pm AEDT) PARRAMATTA CUP GROUP 3 1900M

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Each Way

No. 10 Kinesiology

J: Reece Jones (53kg) T: Chris Waller

Kinesiology kicked off his campaign with an encouraging effort over the mile at Randwick and he will have taken plenty of benefit from the outing.

Having just his second start on Australian soil the former European galloper made steady ground late and he’s sure to relish the rise to 1900m.

Only lightly raced, the entire won his maiden at his third race start before going on to finish the runner up in his four subsequent starts, all of which were all at stakes level.

He gets in here with just 53kgs and draws to get a cosy in transit under Reece Jones.

Race 8: (4:35pm AEDT) KIA ORA HOBARTVILLE STAKES 3YO SW GROUP 2

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 1 Broadsiding

J: Zac Lloyd (56.5kg) T: James Cummings

Broadsiding will make his hotly anticipated return to the races.

Now a three-time Group One winner, the Godolphin colt didn’t have the best of runs in the Caulfield Guineas but he was brilliant in the Cox Plate, where he charged home from the tail to claim third.

Sent to the paddock after he appeared to have had enough in the Cantala Stakes, he comes here off two very pleasing trials.

His latest heat saw him let down strongly over the 1000m at Warwick Farm and he looks ready to go.

He was victorious when resuming last preparation in the Golden Rose over this track and track and looks on track to repeat that performance.

Race 9: (5:15pm AEDT) ASAHI SUPER DRY HANDICAP BM100 1400M

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 3 West Of Africa

J: Tyler Schiller (57.5kg) T: Annabel Neasham & Rob Archibald

West Of Africa comes off a five week freshen up after scoring a brilliant last to first victory in the Magic Millions Cup on the Gold Coast.

A very handy galloper on his day, the Not A Single Doubt gelding has worked through his grades nicely and looks to have come back bigger and better this time in.

Given an easy trial last week to keep him ticking over, he looks ready to go and from the wide gate he’ll get back and be storming home late.

Tyler Schiller has formed a great affinity with the five-year-old and he stays in the saddle for Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald.

Race 10: (5:55pm AEDT) CHANDON HANDICAP BM94 1100M

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 10 The Black Cloud

J: Jay Ford (53kg) T: Joseph Pride

The Black Cloud kicked off her preparation with a very pleasing performance over 1000m at Randwick and she’ll relish the slight rise in trip.
The Joe Pride trained mare settled just off the leader and gave a good kick in the straight but just found one better on the day.

She strips fitter for the run and has won three from four over the 1100m.

Only lightly raced, the four year old daughter of Shamus Award has put together a very tidy record and she looks well placed to build on that.
