Sydney racing is really starting to heat up as the Autumn Carnival looms.
The $2m Inglis Millenium for the two-year-olds will headline an exciting 10-race card program at Royal Randwick this Saturday with the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes for the three-year-olds to also feature.
We’ll see the return of several high-class gallopers as they kick off their Autumn preparations and with the rail in the true position and a good 4 surface at present, we’re in for a cracking day.
Race 1: (12:30pm AEDT) MIDWAY HANDICAP BM72 1600M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 6 Oh Diamond Lil
Oh Diamond Lil is building a tidy record and looks well placed here with the drop in grade.
She put together dominant back to back wins before stepping up to BM78 company last start, where she stuck on gamely to finish second behind the in-form Perfumist.
A daughter of So You Think, she did want to race a touch keen in behind the leader last time so the crossover noseband goes on and I don’t think she’ll have any trouble running out a strong mile.
Kerrin McEvoy stays in the saddle and from the inside draw she’s set to receive all the favours.
Race 2: (1:05pm AEDT) TAB HIGHWAY CLASS 3 1200M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 2 Lisztomania
Liztomania will kick off his campaign.
The gelding hasn’t seen the winners’ stall for some time but he was racing very well last preparation with little luck.
Placed in three of his four starts last time in, he was charging home late on each occasion after getting well back.
He does race well fresh and has been placed in all four runs here at Randwick.
James McDonald will do the steering for Inverell trainer Todd Payne and if he can settle within striking distance, he should prove hard to beat.
Race 3: (1:40pm AEDT) DARLEY LONHRO PLATE 2YO SW LISTED 1000M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 2 Chergui
Chergui just tired late when making his debut here back in December.
The Godolphin colt looked to have the race in his keeping when he hit the front 300m out but Pallaton when past him in a flash and he had to settle for second.
He’s been back to the trials and I really like the way he found the line in the 818m Warwick Farm heat.
With natural improvement, I’m happy to stick with him and from barrier four, Zac Lloyd can afford him every chance.
Race 4: (2:15pm AEDT) INGLIS CLASSIC YEARLING SALE HANDICAP BM78 1600M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 9 Point And Shoot
Point And Shoot could not have been more impressive when saluting over 1400m here last start.
The Bjorn Baker trained son of Blue Point had been racing well and relished getting out over that bit further on the big track, as he powered home from the tail to post a 5.4 length margin on the line.
Only lightly raced, he’s continued to improve and the way he found the line last time suggests he’ll be well suited up to the mile.
He does rise in grade but will carry just 55kgs and from gate nine, Tim Clark can settle back and let him rip.
Race 5: (2:50pm AEDT) THE WESTMEAD INSTITUTE HANDICAP BM78 1300M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 4 Anavinci
Anavinci was very good when resuming off a lengthy break and she may have just felt the effects of that last start.
A five year old daughter of I Am Invincible, she just had the two starts in her first preparation and showed plenty of natural talent, winning on debut before a solid effort to finish only a neck away in third in the Listed Gosford Guineas.
Spending two years on the sidelines, she made a terrific return when going down by less than a length over 1200m here in this grade of race.
She didn’t have the easiest of runs last start at Wyong and just battled over the final 100m but I think she can bounce back here.
Barrier six should see her afforded every chance under Tyler Schiller, who jumps aboard for Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald.
Race 6: (3:25pm AEDT) ATC BUSINESS CONNECT SPRINT BM94 HANDICAP 1000M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 7 The Black Cloud
The Black Cloud returns to the races.
She put the writing on the wall early on, winning four of her first six starts along with two second placings.
The Shamus Award mare then contested the Group 3 Toy Show where she failed to figure and subsequently pulled up with a slow recovery.
Dropping back in grade, she stepped out in a BM88 at Rosehill but had seemingly come to the end of her preparation and was sent to the paddock.
She looks to have come back in top order with a very pleasing effort in her latest trial and she’s saluted in two of her three first up appearances.
Jay Ford has partnered her in all of her raceday outings and he’ll again do the steering for Joe Pride.
The low draw will see her afforded every chance and she gets in beautifully with just 52kgs.
Race 7: (4:00pm AEDT) INGLIS MILLENIUM 2YO SW RESTRICTED LISTED
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 12 Price Tag
Price Tag has yet to see the winners still after three runs but I think that’s about to change. The daughter of Zoustar was a touch unlucky on debut on the Maribyrnong trial but hit the line strongly to finish a close third. She then tackled the Maribyrnong Plate where she did a lot wrong but still found the line well.
Given a break, she returned with a terrific effort to finish second in the Blue Diamond Preview. Fitter for that run, the slight rise to 1100m looks ideal and Tyler Schiller was able to get a good feel for her on that occasion and he stays aboard in the $2 million Inglis Millennium.
Race 8: (4:35pm AEDT) ASAHI SUPER DRY ESKIMO PRINCE STAKES GROUP 3 1200M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 1 Linebacker
Linebacker returns to the races and it’s no surprise to see that he’s been gelded during the break.
A winner at his first two outings, he produced a superb effort to finish second in the Group One Champagne Stakes in very heavy conditions before a well-earned rest.
He then returned with a top effort in the Run To The Rose and was well fancied as he lined up two weeks later in the Golden Rose, but his pre-race antics took centre stage and he failed to fire in the run.
He comes here off two solid trials and if he can produce his best, I think he’ll be too good for them in the Eskimo Prince Stakes.
Kerrin McEvoy knows him well and will do the steering for John O’Shea and Tom Charlton.
Race 9: (5:15pm AEDT) FUJITSI AIRSTAGE HANDICAP 1600M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 5 St Lawrence
St Lawrence has been performing well and has the advantage of race fitness over several of these runners.
He made it back-to-back wins when taking out the Little Dance on Melbourne Cup Day and was given a six-week let up after failing to fire in the Group Three Festival Stakes behind Private Eye.
He kicked off again in the Lakes last month but just didn’t appear suited around the tight Wyong circuit.
The New Zealand bred gelding has proven himself a very capable galloper on his day and he’s two from three over the Randwick mile.
Chad Schofield goes back in the saddle for Ciaron Maher, and I think he’ll be powering home over the top them late.
Race 10: (5:55pm AEDT) MOSTYNCOPPER HANDICAP BM78 1200M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 2 Able Willie
Able Willie resumed with a pleasing effort over this track and distance and I think he looks a great each way chance here.
Settling back in the small field, the Written Tycoon gelding just wanted to get his head up through the middle stages but finished off strongly into third.
With six weeks since that first up outing he’s been given a 900m trial to keep him up to the mark and he does boast a very good record over this trip.
He gets a senior rider back onboard, with Kerrin McEvoy taking over and barrier two will see him enjoy a cosy run throughout.
