Here is my preview for Round 20 of the 2024/25 A-League Season!
11th plays 13th. Someone has to win, SURELY!
The Jets at home are the $2.20 favourites in this one and I like them to win here purely because they are not the Brisbane Roar.
Another week of finding a way to say the Brisbane Roar suck in different terms. I’m running on empty 20 weeks into the season.
Newy aren’t great either, but they’re better than Brisbane.
We’ve got another Kiwi Classico!
Forget the Merseyside Derby, forget El Classico. The Kiwi Classico is easily the greatest rivalry in world football.
This is the only rare instance that I’m not backing the ‘Nix blindly this season. Auckland have been terrific all year long and a string of draws recently has seen Wellington plummet down the ladder to 10th.
It pains me to say it but I like Auckland here.
Saturday afternoon it’s 9th hosting 8th but don’t let those low rankings fool you. A win here for WSW could see them jump up a few spots on the A-League ladder.
The bookies reckon they’ll do just that too. The visitors are a very short $2.15 favourites and the Mariners have struggled to get a result recently.
Four draws in a row, have they forgotten how to win? I think the Wanderers might give them a bit of a touch up here.
Speaking of derbies, we’ve got ourselves another one of Saturday night!
3rd hosts 4th and the bookies are favouring a Victory win here in a big way which is just bizarre to see City at such a blown out price after years of being $1.80 favourites every week.
The home team has won each of Melbourne City’s last seven games, despite being at their home ground, they are technically the away side.
I’m with the Vics
The Sky Blues head to Perth on Saturday evening for our final game of the quadruple header and do we really think the Glory will keep up with Sydney here?
I don’t hold out much hope and neither do the bookies. $4.40 plays $1.62 here and our purple hosts still only have the two wins to their name this year.

We wrap up the weekend with a couple of Uniteds. This time its Western v Adelaide.
You can’t split these two sides, it’s $2.40 plays $2.50 however the betting trends steer me towards to Reds.
Western United FC has lost four of its last six games as a home favourite following a loss.
Bit of a niche stat but Adelaide are second on the ladder for a reason and I think they’re good value in this one.
