Royal Randwick will play host to a nine race program this Saturday after the feature event was controversially scrapped at acceptance time.
What was originally set to be a ten race card was reduced to nine, as the Listed Carrington Stakes was deleted after it failed to attract a sufficient number of acceptors.
There’s still plenty of quality throughout the meeting and you can find our thoughts and selections below.
Race 1: (1:05pm AEDT) THE AGNECY REAL ESTATE HANDICAP 2YO 1000M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 6 United States
We kick off the day with a 1000m Handicap for the two year olds with the majority of the field set to make their debut.
The colt from the Chris Waller yard, United States has just had the one public trial and there was a lot to like his effort.
A son of Snitzel, he just wanted to overdo things in the early part but was restrained behind the leader and worked strongly through the line with very little pressure and he looked to have plenty in hand.
Kerrin McEvoy will take the mount and from barrier two, he’s set to receive every chance.
Race 2: (1:40pm AEDT) MIDWAY HANDICAP BM72 1600M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 3 Kingston Charm
Kingston Charm has been racing well and drops back from stakes grade.
Off a five week let up, she was solid to the line in heavy conditions here two starts back before stepping out in the Group 3 Belle Of The Turf at Wyong, where she settled back last and made up plenty of ground to finish fifth.
A winner of the $500k Four Pillars late last year, she’s proven herself a very handy mare and she’s a three time winner over the mile.
Zac Lloyd knows her well and he jumps back aboard for John Thompson.
Race 3: (2:15pm AEDT) TAB HIGHWAY HANDICAP CLASS 3 1200M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 1 Clear Thinking
Clear Thinking will kick off her campaign.
The daughter of Dubawi took all before her in her first preparation and a recent trial win suggests she’s come back in tip top order.
She was in a league of her own on debut as she kicked away to post an 8.2 length margin on her home track Scone and was too good again there at her second start.
Straight to highway grade over this track and trip and she burst through late to get the job done.
Aaron Bullock partnered her at her first two starts and he’ll take the mount here for Paul Messara and Leah Gavranich.
She does to carry the 60kgs and tricky draw isn’t ideal, however I do believe she has the class to overcome both of those factors.
Race 4: (2:50pm AEDT) COMPLETE FREIGHT SERVICES HANDICAP BM88 2000M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 4 Unlimited
Unlimited is racing in top form and was only denied by the barest of margins at Wyong a fortnight ago.
The Irish bred son of Saxon Warrior saluted over this track and trip two runs back and he just missed putting together back to back wins last time.
There was plenty of merit in his performance as he found himself at the tail 800m from home and made a sweeping run around the field to get within a nose on the line.
After beginning his career in the UK the gelding didn’t fire in his first few Australian runs but he’s certainly found his feet now and looks very progressive.
Kerrin McEvoy takes over and he’ll appreciate getting back on the big Randwick track.
Race 5: (3:25pm) DRINKWISE MILE BM88 HANDICAP 1600M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 2 Don Diego De Vega
Don Diego De Vega returns to the races.
The former French galloper has just had the two starts on Australian soil and was quick to make an impression, finishing the runner up at Rosehill before a determined effort to salute here under 61kgs.
With only the seven race starts the Lope De Vega gelding is building a very tidy record and he looks to have plenty of upside.
The mile kick off looks ideal on the back of a recent 1200m trial win and barrier four should see him afforded every chance under Jason Collett.
Race 6: (4:00pm AEDT) INGLIS CLASSIC YEARLING SALE HANDICAP BM72 1400M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 8 Imposant
Imposant has been the runner up in two starts back this campaign and looks well placed to go one better.
She didn’t have the best of luck when resuming over 1300m here but charged home late once clear and she was again doing her best work late last start at Wyong.
The Kris Lees trained mare will relish getting back on to the bigger track and slight step to 1400m will certainly suit.
Chad Schofield will take the reins and the inside draw can see her settle within striking distance.
Race 7: (4:35pm AEDT) RANVET HANDICAP BM78 1200M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 1 Bonita Queen
Bonita Queen proved too good when resuming over 1100m at Wyong and she will have taken further improvement from the outing.
A daughter of I Am Invincible, the mare has put together a very tidy record, having only missed a top three spot on one occasion during her ten starts to date.
She put the writing on the wall last campaign with dominant back to back wins and looks to have come back bigger and better.
She does have to lump the 61.5kgs but Adam Hyeronimus knows how to get the best out of her and he stays in the saddle for Bjorn Baker.
Race 8: (5:15pm AEDT) CAPTIVANT @ KIA ORA HANDICAP BM78 1400M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 6 Invader Zim
Invader Zim didn’t have a lot go right last start at Wyong and he’ll appreciate getting back to the spacious Randwick circuit.
Only lightly raced, the four year old kicked off his campaign with a very encouraging effort to finish second here behind the inform Disneck but around the tight Wyong track, he got back and found traffic and it was all too late by the time he was clear.
He presents here at peak fitness, the slight rise to 1400m looks ideal and he gets a senior rider back aboard with Kerrin McEvoy to do the steering.
Race 9: (5:55pm AEDT) 2025 STUD AND STABLE STAFF AWARDS HANDICAP BM78 1200M
Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 10 Step Aside
Step Aside resumes.
A very capable galloper, he was unlucky on a couple of occasions last preparation against quality opposition.
He has a terrific first up record and comes here off two nice trials.
Held together in his most recent heat, he was very strong through the line sporting the blinkers.
The 1200m first up looks ideal and he gets the shades on for the first time on raceday.
From the inside draw he can put himself up and is sure to be strong late.
