Premier League Game Week 22 Tips & Preview

Premier League Game Week 22 Tips & Preview

Just as Game Week 21 of the Premier League comes to a close, Game Week 22 is set to commence.

The race for the 2024/25 EPL Title is well and truly alive, with Liverpool, Arsenal and even Notts Forest right in the hunt, while Newcastle continue to make rapid progress up the table.

The Magpie’s kick off proceedings this round with an exciting matchup against the giant-killing Cherries.

Elsewhere, Liverpool travel to Brentford, Arsenal host Aston Villa, and Man United meet Brighton.

Our Offside Oracle has previewed all 10 Premier League fixtures and provided his best betting plays below!

Newcastle United vs AFC Bournemouth
SGM: Isak to Score & Over 2.5 Goals $2.35

Two of the league’s form sides are set to meet at St. James Park, as the Magpies host the Cherries.

Newcastle are on a nine game winning streak across all competitions, keeping six clean sheets across the trip.

Their run of form has been spurred on by a rise to greatness by Alexander Isak, who has become the fourth ever player to score in eight straight EPL fixtures, joining Ruud van Nistelrooy, Jamies Vardy, and Daniel Sturridge.

The Toon will need to be on top of their game here, with Bournemouth enjoying their own incredible run of results, going unbeaten in 10 fixtures across all comps (6W,4D).

Long live the streak! I’m backing Isak to find the back of the net again, combined with Over 2.5 Total Goals Scored!

Leicester City vs Fulham
Fulham and Over 1.5 Goals $2.20

Leicester face the prospect of losing seven straight Premier League fixtures when they welcome Fulham to the King Power Stadium.

The Cottagers were unlucky losers last time out, going down to West Ham 3-2, despite taking 17 more shots on goal, that loss ended a run of nine games without defeat across all comps (3W,6D).

Fulham has won their last three H2Hs against the Foxes, a run which should extend to four victories here.

West Ham United vs Crystal Palace
Draw $3.40

Graham Potter takes charge of his 2nd league fixture as West Ham’s manager, after securing an unlikely/unfashionable win against the Cottagers in GW21.

The Hammers will host London rivals the Eagles, with both sides looking to push toward the top half of the table.

Crystal Palace secured a 2-0 win over Leicester mid-week, taking their unbeaten run in the league to four games (2W,2D).

Only Brighton (10D) has played out more draws than the Eagles (9D) this season, and I’m backing them to even the ledger here.

Brentford vs Liverpool
Liverpool and Over 3.5 Goals $2.60

The Bees look to ruffle a few more feathers in the title race, when they play host to league-leaders Liverpool on Saturday night (AEST).

The Reds enter this fixture off the back of being held to a 1-1 draw against this season’s surprise package, Notts Forest.

That makes it two league stalemates in a row for the title favourites, while they also fell 1-0 to Tottenham in the first leg of their EFL Cup Semi Final.

Alternatively, Brentford scored two late goals to secure a draw against Man City last time out, in doing so, retaining the 2nd best home record in the league (7W,2D,2L).

Alternatively, the Reds are unbeaten on the road this season, claiming seven wins from 10 away fixtures (3D).

Liverpool has won nine of their last 11 H2Hs against Brentford (1D,1L), and should see them off again here.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa
Both Teams to Score (No) and Under 3.5 Goals $2.10

The Gunners returned to winning ways in the ultimate fashion, by seeing off North London rivals Tottenham 2-1, a scoreline which flatters the losing side.

Meanwhile, the Villans are enjoying a three game winning streak across all comps, although, all three victories came against struggling outfits.

Arsenal won 2-0 in the reverse fixture at Villa Park earlier this season, though the Villans enjoyed wins in the two H2Hs prior, including their last trip to the Emirates.

The ‘Both Teams to Score’ market has failed to salute in the three previous meetings between this pair, and I am expecting defence to dominate proceedings once again.

I’m backing at least one side to fail to score, combined with under 3.5 total goals.

Everton FC vs Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham $2.45

The pressure is continuing to mount on Aussie Ange, as the Spurs continue to flip flop between great and horrible performances.

They’ll take on a Toffee’s side who welcome back their favourite son/manager, David Moyes.

Moyes was at the helm during Everton’s golden era between 2002 to 2013, a period where they finished inside the top eight nine times and reached the FA Cup final, though most Aussie fans might attributed that success to the forehead of Tim Cahill.

The return of Moyes doesn’t change the fact that Everton have a horrible squad, who can’t create a chance to save themselves.

The Toffee’s have been kept scoreless in nine of their last 12 games in all comps, and while Tottenham haven’t been crash hot themselves, they can still put one or two into the onion bag.

Spurs to win on the road. Or pray for Ange.

Manchester United vs Brighton & Hove Albion
Over 3.5 Total Goals $2.60

Against good sides, bad sides, possession based sides, counter attacking sides, Brighton seem to always find a way to draw!

The Seagulls have drawn their last four league fixtures (at publish), and lead the Premier League in stalemates (10).

Meanwhile, the Red Devils ended a run of three straight league defeats with a hard fought 2-2 draw at Anfield in GW20, before holding Arsenal to 1-1 across 120+ minutes of football, 60+ minutes of which was with a man down, before progressing to the fourth round of the FA Cup on pens.

Both of these sides are a work in progress, and although recent form is screaming “BACK THE DRAW”, all 15 of their previous Premier League H2Hs has finished with a result either way.

I’m backing an entertaining matchup to be played out at Old Trafford, with Over 3.5 Total goals to be shared between the pair.

Nottingham Forest vs Southampton FC
Notts to Win & Wood to Score $2.19

Notts Forest has taken four points from two games against league leaders Liverpool, while Southampton have claimed six points across their opening 20 fixtures, let that sink in for a moment…

The Trees are unbeaten in eight games across all comps (7W,1D), while the Saints only win since early November (2D,9L) came last time out in an FA Cup fixture against mid-table Championship side, Swansea.

Forest’s success goes hand-in-hand with the scoring form of ANZ (Kiwi) legend Chris Wood, who has 13 league goals, only Salah, Haaland, Isak, and Palmer scoring more. Not to mention he inspired this banger of a tune (If Chris Wood could, Chris Wood would).

On that note, Notts to Win and Wood to Score.

Ipswich Town vs Manchester City
Haaland to Score 2+ Goals $3.75

Man City will be looking to blow off a bit off steam after throwing away what looked to be a certain win away to the Bees in GW21.

The Citizens will take solace in the fact they belted the tractor Boys 4-1 earlier in the season, with Haaland netting a hat trick.

Despite only trailing Salah (18G) in the golden Boot race, Erling has endured a rough run of form, scoring just four times across his last 10 starts in all comps.

I’m backing the rangy striker to return to form, scoring a brace on the way to a Sky Blue victory.

Chelsea vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
SGM: Palmer & Jackson & Cunha to Score Anytime $13.12

Game Week 22 comes to a close on Tuesday morning (AEST), when the Blues welcome the Wolves to the Bridge.

Chelsea are still searching for their first league win in 2025, failing to secure three points in their last five Premier League fixtures (3D,2L).

Meanwhile, Wolverhampton are winless in three (1D,2L), and are scoreless in two.

This fixture has proven to be a blockbuster in the past, with 6+ goals scored in each of the previous two meetings, while the Wolves have reigned victorious in three of the last four H2Hs.

I’m having a bit of fun with this one, backing multiple goals scorers in a Same Game Multi.
