Daily Racing Tips – Tuesday, January 21

Megaflash is having his fourth run back for Ben Brisbourne with a couple of key gear changes made. 

The lightly-raced four-year-old is an 11-start maiden who missed out only narrowly on a place last start at Kerang where he failed to make full use of the inside gate. 

In saying that, he was beaten only two lengths over 1200m the run prior at Kyneton where he again showed plenty of late speed. 

Hard fit now and likely to roll forward early and land on the speed, this looks like another winnable race. 

Junebug is back from a lengthy spell hoping to put the soft gate to good use. 

Annabel Neasham’s mare was super consistent last autumn against tougher company, winning well first-up at Muswellbrook, before going on to grab a place in back to back runs over further at Hawkesbury and Goulburn. 

The 1500m trip is short of her best, but with a win to her name first-up and some decent wet track form, she rates one of the main contenders. 

Mystery Blonde has gone up a nice price coming off two runner-up efforts leading in. 

The mare by Sepoy loomed the winner over the final furlong three weeks ago over the same trip, only weakening late where she was beaten half a length by a talented type. 

The Julius Sandhu-trained sprinter has been super honest during her short career and would benefit from a firming track with Jamie Mott still aboard. 

Irresistible Sir finds it tough to win, but there is a bit to like about his chances here second-up for Ricky Maund.  

The five-year-old Irish-bred gelding resumed stylishly to finish runner-up in a divining finish at Horsham last start, showing a nice turn of foot in the process back from an eight-week spell. 

Barrier 3 should see him get back early and look to save his best for late.
