No. 1 Varane

J: Billy Egan (61.5kg) T: Patrick & Michelle Payne

Varane resumes here and should have a terrific fitness base given he’s had four jump outs.

The Patrick & Michelle Payne-trained gelding was last seen charging to the line after being badly held up to finish a neck third at Seymour.

His form last preparation was very good and included a Wangaratta win two starts back.

Billy Egan has a good relationship with the horse and the stable are flying.

Win Market Mover

No. 5 Precious Charm

J: John Allen (57kg) T: Symon Wilde

Precious Charm resumed in terrific fashion over 1200m here last start with a win.

The Simon Wilde-trained mare settled back before launching in the straight to surge past her rivals and salute by a length.

She’ll strip fitter and is undefeated in two previous second-up races including over this course and distance last preparation.

She loves her home track and is well placed to keep her unbeaten record here intact.

Warrnambool: Race 7 4:55pm AEDT

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Each Way Market Mover

No. 4 Picaroon

J: John Allen (59.5kg) T: Tom Dabernig

Picaroon was a sick watch for her supporters in the Woodford Cup over this course and distance last start when finishing three lengths fifth.

The Tom Dabernig-trained Fiorente mare enjoyed a great run just behind the lead but was held up for the entirety of the straight when obviously having plenty to give.

She is rock hard fit and has competed well in stronger races throughout this preparation.

There looks to be good speed in the race which will hopefully help her get clear air.

Warrnambool: Race 8 5:25pm AEDT

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 4 Active Duty

J: Jarrod Fry (58.5kg) T: Lindsey Smith

Active Duty is knocking on the door of a win.

The Lindsey Smith-trained gelding stormed home over this course and distance last start but was outbobbed to finish a nose second.

He’s at peak fitness now, has a good record over this course and distance and went within a head when having his fifth run back last preparation.

He maps to get the run of the race for Jarrod Fry.
