The Valley: Race 2 (6:45pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 2 Moon And Back

J: Jamie Mott (60kg) T: Andrew Noblet

Willing to forgive Moon And Back for her latest effort in a similar 55 Second Challenge race this time last week.

The mare by Exosphere loomed a serious chance before being held up badly around the 300m mark, eventually settling for fifth after never finding clear air when it mattered most.

Her previous form was solid though, notably running third behind the talented Major Share three back. On a quick turnaround now and facing another dry track, she should be one of the major players with even luck.

The Valley: Race 4 (6:45pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 2 Parch

J: Logan Bates (58kg) T: Jerome Hunter

Parch has the inside gate and the handy 3kg claim in his favour.

The lightly-raced three-year-old by Headwater has been ultra-consistent during his short time at the races, missing the money only once from six starts.

He has some nice form around the impressive Enright three back at Mornington, and should be plenty fit here having tackled 1400m at Seymour two weeks ago where he ran on strongly for second in a crowded finish.

The Valley: Race 5 (7:15pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Each Way

No. 6 Lloyd’ Crown

J: Daniel Stackhouse (61kg) T: Rebecca Waymouth

Lloyd’s Crown gets Daniel Stackhouse back in the saddle hoping to improve on a last-start place effort at Seymour.

The son of Rebel Dane let down strongly to run third in a small field, a respectable effort off a five-week break given he was also charged with 61kg.

This is a similar assignment at BM64 grade, but with good form here at The Valley and natural improvement to come on less of a turnaround, there’s a case to be made for his chances at likable odds.

The Valley: Race 7 (8:15pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 5 Mckeyla

J: Jye McNeil (59kg) T: Robbie Griffiths

McKeyla was facing a tough step up in grade last start at Flemington on her way to finishing runner-up down the straight.

Having previously won her maiden at Yarra Glen, the daughter of Shamus Award was far from disgraced during her first look in town, overracing a little in the early stages, before knuckling down to find the money despite being held up.

Better for that experience with some solid race fitness on her side, she should go well in here.
