No. 11 Gracie’s Rain

J: Jamie Mott (56.5kg) T: Michael Huglin

Gracie’s Rain gave a sight when resuming over 955m at The Valley three starts ago but was run down late to finish a length second.

The four-year-old mare raced a touch flat second-up but bounced back in a big way last start at Mornington.

She kept her unbeaten record over 1200m intact when going straight to the front and giving nothing else a chance to win by 1.8 lengths.

Jamie Mott can dictate the speed which should make her hard to run down.

No. 7 Divine Justice

J: Liam Riordan (56.5kg) T: Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr

Divine Justice was luckless when debuting over 1200m at Yarra Glen.

The Price & Kent Jnr-trained filly settled back after a slow start before looming large as they approached the run home.

Unfortunately, she was held up badly and didn’t get clear air until it was too late, but she did run through the line strongly to finish 2.4 lengths fifth.

She’ll strip fitter second-up and the rise in distance looks ideal.

No. 2 Justaboom

J: Saffie Osborne (61kg) T: Ciaron Maher

Justaboom returns to the races for the first time since suffering respiratory issues in the G3 Auraria Stakes at Morphettville in April.

The Ciaron Maher-trained mare had raced well in black-type races prior to that and won her maiden over 1600m here and a Benchmark 70 Handicap at Caulfield.

She’s had two jump outs leading into this and looked particularly good in the most recent piece of work that resulted in a win.

Saffie Osborne should give her a nice run in slightly better than midfield position.

Best of the day

No. 2 Settat

J: Tom Prebble (61.5kg) T: Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young

Settat has been racing well and gets his chance to return to the winner’s stall.

The Busuttin & Young-trained gelding won four starts ago at Hamilton where he charged home to win in the final stride over 1400m.

Since then, he hasn’t had the greatest of luck when finishing a head third at Geelong two starts back and then running on strongly to finish second at Cranbourne after being held up.

Tom Prebble, who claims 2kg, can settle in a prominent position.
