Open wide for some Soccer!
The A-League keeps on rolling and we’ve got another massive week of domestic men’s Australian football coming your way!
Here is my preview for Round 17 of the 2024/25 A-League Season!
We have not seen the Brisbane Roar since their 4-3 win over Sydney Fc and they will be keen to repeat their efforts against another Sydney side this Friday.
WSW have hit a bit of a rough patch form wise too. With just one win and three losses in their last five games, could the Roar be primed and ready for a bit of mid season form?
I lean towards no, one win does not save a football franchise and the Roar’s abysmal home record is a massive concern. They’ve lost each of their last nine home games.
I think this is the tune up game the Wanderers need.
Auckland are back where they belong on top of the table and could really benefit from a win here to break away from the pack.
It’s not going to be easy though, don’t let the market prices fool you. Macarthur are currently third on the table and could really push Auckland, they’ve won their last three games as away underdogs and could be a bit of sneaky value at $4.00.
I am with the Kiwis however, I just think that they’re a cut above the rest in this first season and really want to see them continue.
Auckland to win.
The Sky Blues are favourites on Saturday afternoon against the Reds but I’M NOT HAVING A BAR OF IT.
Adelaide are second on the table and are a much better team in my eyes than Sydney.
There’s plenty of value in the “upset” here, Adelaide has won each of their last six away games and their is a path for them to jump up to top dogs on the ladder if Macarthur pinch some points off Auckland.
Give me a bit of Red here.
Yay hooray for the F3 Derby!
The little piece of highway is up for grabs here on Saturday night and the Mariners are very short favourites over the Jets at $1.94 to Newy’s $3.60.
The two sides are down the wrong end of the ladder but the Mariners only have the one loss in their last five games.
CCM have beaten the Jets in their last five matchups, going all the way back to April 2023, I’m backing that to be a sixth win here.
Bring back the CumDog.
The Glory host Melbourne on Saturday night and the bookies are tipping a very one sided affair but these late night affairs in Perth historically go better for Perth than the markets let on.
There’s something about that long haul, different timezone situation that always works in Perth’s favour and given that the Vics only have one win in their last five. I think we’re a chance to see some sort of chaos here once again.
The Perth double chance is the market that calls my name here and at $2.75, it’s hard not to back.
