Premier League Game Week 20 Tips & Preview

Premier League Game Week 20 Tips & Preview

As we roll into 2025, the Premier League rolls into the second half of the season with 10 intriguing fixtures set to be played out across Game Week 20.

Liverpool enter the new year as league leaders, and will look to celebrate with another convincing win against Northwest rivals, Man United.

Elsewhere, the Spurs host the Toon, Man City meet the Hammers and the Gunners travel to Brighton.

The Offside Oracle has previewed all 10 Premier League fixtures, delivering his best bets below!

Tottenham Hotspur vs Newcastle United
Newcastle United and Over 2.5 Goals $2.80

Tottenham will be hoping the change in years will bring a change in fortunes as they fall further behind the top four race.

Spurs have won just one league fixture across their last seven starts (2D,4L), and have conceded nine times in their previous three.

Alternatively, the Toon would love to continue business as usual, with four wins on the bounce across all comps, outscoring their opponents 14-1 over the trip! (As of 30/12).

The Magpies hold a decent record against Spurs in recent times, winning four of the pair’s last five competitive fixtures.

The last seven league meetings between these two sides have seen a result either way (Newcastle 4W, Tottenham 3W).

I’m backing the Toon to take advantage of the Spurs loose defence, claiming all three competition points combined with over 2.5 total goals.

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea
Chelsea and Over 1.5 Goals $2.10

The Blues look to continue their dominance over the Eagles when the pair meet in a London Derby.

Chelsea have won 14 of their last 15 competitive fixtures against Crystal Palace (1D), including six straight league wins at Selhurst Park!

I’m going to keep this bet simple, taking the Blues to see off Palace, combined with over 1.5 total goals.

Aston Villa vs Leicester City
Aston Villa and Under 3.5 Goals $2.30

Leicester and van Nistelrooy have enjoyed the shortest honeymoon period of all time, as the Dutchman’s opening victory with his new side has been followed up with a draw and four straight defeats.

More concerningly, the Foxes have scored just once over their last four games while conceding 12 in that run.

They could be set for more pain, as they travel to Villa Park, to take on a side who know how to find the back of the net.

That being said, Villa has struggled to find consistency this season, especially defensively, keeping just two clean sheets across 18 games.

The Villans have lost just once at home this season, and should make short work of a dysfunctional Foxes outfit.

Manchester City vs West Ham United
SGM: Man City & Over 2.5 Goals & Haaland to Score

West Ham look to bounce back from a 5-0 defeat against Liverpool when travel to take on Man City, a side they have failed to better in all comps since 2015 (3D,18L).

The Citizens broke a spell of five games without a win, when they saw off Leicester 2-0 in GW19, with Haaland scoring his first goal in five starts.

I’m backing both City and Haaland to kick on from here, with Norwegian contributing a goal to a home victory.

Southampton FC vs Brentford
Brentford $2.45

Two sides in considerably poor form are set to take to the pitch as the Saints play host to the Bees.

Brentford are without a win in four games across all comps (1D,3L) failing to score in their last two league fixtures.

Meanwhile, Southampton have failed to win in their last 10 games across all comps (2D,8L), and are sitting dead last in the league, with half the competition points of the 19th placed Ipswich.

The Bees won the reverse fixture 3-1, but are yet to claim a win on the road this season (2D,7L).

This game is shaping up to be an absolute stinker, and despite Brentford’s horrible road record, I can’t bring myself to back the Saints to collect any points.

AFC Bournemouth vs Everton FC
AFC Bournemouth and Under 4.5 Goals $2.15

Bournemouth are out to complete the double over Everton when the pair meet at Vitality Stadium.

The Cherries are currently sitting sixth in the league, just five points adrift of the top four.

Meanwhile, the Toffees are 16th, three points clear of the drop zone, and without a win in four games (3D,1L).

Bournemouth are unbeaten in seven league games (4W,3D) and should prove too tough of a test for the Toothless Toffees.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Arsenal
Arsenal and Over 1.5 Goals $2.00

The Gunners look to keep the pressure on league-leaders Liverpool with a strong performance on the road against Brighton.

Heading into GW19, the Seagulls are six league fixtures without a win (4D,2L), against a raft of mid-low table opposition.

They’ll need to improve massively if they have ambitions of getting anything out of this fixture, with the Gunners purring.

Arsenal are 11 games without defeat in all comps (8W,3D), and look unfazed by the absence of an injured Saka.

The Gunners have won their last two trips to Amex Stadium and I’m backing them to claim the turkey here.

Fulham vs Ipswich Town
Fulham & Both Teams to Score $3.16

Fulham look to go eight league games without a defeat (2W,5D), when they welcome 19th placed Ipswich to Craven Cottage.

The Cottagers are proven a tough task for all side this season, recently taking points away from Chelsea (W), Liverpool (D), Arsenal (D), Brighton (W) and Tottenham (D).

Both teams have scored in seven of Fulham’s last eight games, as well as the last two games against the Tractor Boys.

I’m backing the Cottagers to get the job done at home, but not without conceding.

Liverpool vs Manchester United
SGM: Liverpool to Win & Over 2.5 Goals $ Salah to Score

We might be set for one of the most lopsided Northwest Derbies in some time, as league leaders Liverpool play host to a Man United side who are closer to the drop zone than the top four.

The Reds are unbeaten against the Red Devils since August 2022 (2W,3D), and won 3-0 at Old Trafford earlier this season.

Mo Salah is the biggest contributor to the Reds title tilt this season, the Egyptian is currently leading the league in both Goals (17) and Assists (13), and has 12 more goal involvements then the next best player.

The 32 year old winger has dominated this derby in the past, scoring 15 goals, and providing 6 assists across 16 games against Man United.

I’m backing Mo to score a goal on the way to a convincing Liverpool victory.

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest $2.30

Game Week 20 comes to a close on Tuesday morning, when the Trees look to plant themselves in the top four with a victory over the Wolves.

Nottingham Forest have won five straight league fixtures, and have kept three straight clean sheets.

Meanwhile, the Wolves have gone three games unbeaten (2W,1D) since sacking Gary O’Neil, in doing so, pulling themselves clear of the drop zone.

Forest has won their last three away fixtures, including a victory at Old Trafford, before serving up the Bees their first home defeat.

I’m backing the Trees’ fairytale run to continue here with another victory on the road.
