No. 2 Make Us Proud
Make Us Proud clearly wanted further on debut at Ballarat last start for Shane Jackson.
The Irish raider finished midfield from an identical gate, seen doing his best work through the line over 120m shorter.
He was a dominant winner back home on debut winning by five lengths, and with the winkers on now for the first time with a run under his belt, we should see big improvement.

No. 6 Broadhurst
Keen to see what Broadhurst can produce having finally drawn an inside gate.
Liam Howley’s five-start maiden has been luckless at the barriers over his last two starts, beaten over 4.5 lengths last start at Ballarat after blowing the start under Craig Newitt.
The pair combine again here carrying only 0.5kg extra, while I love the fact he’s had a few runs over the mile leading in.
If he gets back and saves his best for the finish, he’ll be tough to hold out with fitness on his side.

No. 6 Keep Your Cool
Keep Your Cool is close to another win for Ciaron Maher.
The mare by Deep Field ran a much-improved race last start at Donald, settling forward up on the speed and really sticking on nicely to run third behind a couple of smart types.
She’s winless from two starts third-up during her short career, but out slightly in trip and drawn a nice inside gate for the first time this prep, she should prove just as difficult to run down.
Werribee: Race 7 (4:55pm)

No. 18 Aspen Colorado
Racing over the mile first-up isn’t beyond Aspen Colorado.
The Lindsey Smith-trained gelding hasn’t been since August when he won at The Valley by over two lengths, form that has held up very nicely with the runner-up Regal Zeus winning the Vobis Gold Star during the spring at The Valley.
The German raider has mixed his form fresh from a spell, but in with just 54kg with Fred Kersley piloting from the inside gate, there’s a case to be made for him each way at a very good price.
