Caulfield Heath: Race 2 (4:15pm)
Race Starts in: Race Finished
No. 4 Eishaa
Eishaa has drawn a soft gate looking to improve on back to back placings at Kyneton and The Valley leading in.
Paul Preusker’s mare bumped into the smart Piplup a couple of weeks ago when running third, showing good late speed to finish third off a three-wide run in transit.
She looks better suited out to a bigger track now and does have some nice wet track form with soft conditions expected under foot.
Caulfield Heath: Race 3 (4:50pm)
Race Starts in: Race Finished
No. 3 Ersa
Ersa should roll forward and settle toward the front in a race that lacks early speed on paper.
The mare by Lonhro has been good without winning this prep, finding the money in her last two starts at Ballarat in similar conditions.
She was attempting 1500m for the first time last start where she loomed the winner over the final furlong, only to be run down over her final few strides.
In well with the claim and drawn to find the front nice and easy, she’ll be one of the toughest to catch.
Caulfield Heath: Race 5 (6:00pm)
Race Starts in: Race Finished
No. 3 Easy Jay
Easy Jay can give this a real shake from the inside barrier.
The ride was against him last start at The Valley, taken back early from out wide under Jett Stanley where he was eventually forced to make up a stack of ground down the outside for third.
In saying that, he showed plenty over the final stages to suggest there’s more to come, while he also gets in well at the weights with 2kg off.
Providing he isn’t too far back out of the barriers, he’s a definite top-three chance at each-way odds.
Caulfield Heath: Race 6 (6:30pm)
Race Starts in: Race Finished
No. 2 Harpalee
Harpalee drops back slightly in trip after running on late for second here on the Heath track a couple of weeks ago.
The filly by Alabama Express has found excuses in her last two starts, held up badly down the straight at Sale two back, and then coming into contact with another runner last start.
The Hayes-trained three-year-old does own a win on wet going though, making her one of the top chances with Luke Currie retaining the ride.
