Pakenham: Race 4 (1:25pm)

No. 3 Flamin' Romans
Willing to give the Ciaron Maher-trained Flamin’ Romans another look in his Pakenham debut.
Still lightly-raced for a five-year-old, the son to Group 2 winner Ghibellines was only fair to the line at Caulfield late last month, a run that could be worth forgiving considering he drew another wide gate and was stepping up sharply in distance to 2400m.
He’s had a horror run at the barriers over his last few starts, but did win nicely there back at Caulfield before going on to run a place at Headquarters on Oaks Day.
With that run over 2400m under his belt, he should see out the extra trip back on a dry track from a perfect gate.
Pakenham: Race 6 (3:06pm)

No. 6 Running By
Running By might be one of the better bets on the program.
Racing off a six-week gap, the filly by Impending was an impressive winner on Oaks Day at Flemington, storming home from midfield to claim the Inglis Bracelet by 1.75 lengths.
Ciaron Maher’s five-year-old has been given a nice trial between starts to keep her fresh and there’s no question she’ll handle 1400m with good form to her name over the trip.
Ascot: Race 3 (3:44pm)

No. 1 Kisses From Kelly
Kisses From Kelly rates highly third-up.
Holly Taylor’s five-year-old has been ultra-consistent over the last six months, capping off his winter prep with a win at Belmont over 2200m, before finding his way back into the winner’s stall over the same distance here at Ascot second-up a fortnight ago.
By Demerit, he’ll carry top weight for his efforts this time, but with Clint Johnston-Porter retaining the ride from a perfect gate, the right steer should see him hard to run down up on the speed.

No. 1 Numerian
Numerian looks ready to win second-up.
The Neasham/Archibald-trainer stayer was strong late in the G1 Northerly Stakes last start, drawn wide and spotting the leaders a start, before working home nicely to finish three lengths off.
He didn’t have the best of luck in tougher contests like the Doomben Cup and Q22 earlier in the year, but he’s finally drawn a good gate with the step up 2200m also looking ideal.
