No. 11 Rey Magnerio

J: Jye McNeil (54kg) T: R Griffiths & M De Kock

Rey Magnerio ticks a few important boxes third-up this afternoon in the Rising Fast Stakes

The five-year-old by Magnus went down by the narrowest of margins two weeks ago in the Caulfield Sprint, timing his run well to finish within a nose of Estriella.

His final 200m sectional ranked as the fastest of the meeting, so a similar performance can be expected with some of his best racing coming here at Flemington in the past.

Flemington: Race 4 (2:20pm)

Win

No. 2 Another Wil

J: Jamie Kah (57.5kg) T: Ciaron Maher

Another Wil is worth forgiving on his run in the Toorak Handicap a few weeks ago.

The tactics were clearly against him when he weakened up on the speed, a disappointing effort for anyone that backed him at the short price. Even so, Jamie Kah returning to the saddle is an enormous plus given she’s steered him to six wins in the past.

With a more patient ride off the speed, we should see this talented gelding bouncing back to his best in The Damien Oliver.

Flemington: Race 6 (3:40pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 13 Lady Of Camelot

J: Tim Clark (55kg) T: G Waterhouse & A Bott

Lady Of Camelot ran an eye-catching race off a four-week break in The Everest last start.

The Golden Slipper winner was facing the breeze in transit and forced to check across heels at the top of the straight, only seen doing her best work late.

Drawn well and back on a dry track, she should run another huge race with improvement still to come in the Coolmore Stud Stakes.

Flemington: Race 7(4:20pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 2 Red Aces

J: Jamie Mott (57kg) T: Nick Ryan

Red Aces won the Moonee Valley Vase last Saturday, returning on the quick backup now for a crack at the 2024 Victoria Derby.

The colt by Dundeel was quickly into stride out of the turn, exploding from midfield to fend off a few late challengers.

If he gets back again from the soft gate and handles the extra distance, he’ll be one of the toughest to run down.
