Daily Racing Tips – Ararat Cup Day Special

Ararat: Race 1 (1:20pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win Market Mover

No. 1 Mr Lincoln

J: Tom Ryan (68kg) T: Chris Ryan

Mr Lincoln is drawn to receive every chance along the inside running rail.

The smart son of Americain was always wide last start at The Valley, beaten close to seven lengths fourth-up where he had next to no luck go his way.

He comes back to compete at a much easier level now, while back to back runs over the 3000m mark should top him off nicely for this huge rise in trip.

Ararat: Race 5 (3:40pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win Market Mover

No. 8 Earth God

J: Harry Coffey (57kg) T: A & S Freedman

Earth God is second-up for Team Freedman and likely to appreciate the drop back in class.

A three-year-old son to Written Tycoon, this promising gelding has spent time racing in town of late, appearing in need of the run when he stepped out at The Valley last start beaten over four lengths.

He did hold his own last time in work at Caulfield in a small field for third, so with improvement to come second-up and next to no weight on his back, he looks well-placed to make amends.

Ararat: Race 7 (4:55pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Each Way

No. 6 Lottaroc

J: Teodore Nugent (54kg) T: David Noonan

Lottaroc can mix his form, but he does warrant big respect with a win and a place to his name over 2200m.

David Noonan’s stayer made up for a disappointing run in the Hamilton Cup to run third in the Horsham Cup last start, making up decent ground after landing in behind the speed in the early stages.

He gets Teo Nugent in the saddle for the first time now and was also a smart winner over this trip at Morphettville three runs back.

Hard fit and carrying light weight from an ideal draw, he has big claims at a decent price.

Ararat: Race 8 (5:35pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 7 Mawallock

J: Fred W Kersley (54.5kg) T: Lindsey Smith

Mawallock is third-up for Lindsay Smith in a wide-open race between the sprinters.

Only lightly-raced for a five-year-old, she gave a nice sight at The Valley a couple of weeks ago where she was up in class, rattling home late for third when given every chance.

She’ll take big benefit away from that performance and just needs even luck into the straight from the inside gate.
