We have a month of football almost under our belts and the A-League certainly hasn’t dissappointed in the early stages of this season.
I’ve run my eyes over each game this weekend.
Here is my preview of week 4 of the A-League!
The winless WSW will host Newy on Friday night to get Round 4 started and despite not securing three points yet this year, they are short priced favourites over the Jets.
The Jets are 1-1 with a bye and despite being three spots higher on the table, they are $3.90 underdogs in this fixture.
The upset could be on the cards here, Western Sydney has lost each of its last five night games as a favourite and I’ve seen nothing from the Wanderers yet to back them with confidence.
The Brisbane Roar are bottom of the A-League table and will almost definetly stay there after this week, they are a game behind and are up against it with a tough matchup over the Vics.
Melbourne Victory sit second on the table and are short priced favourites at $1.65.
Brisbane has won three of its last four games as an underdog against Melbourne Victory but I’m not going near them after they burned me last week.
Saturday evening we are treated to the Reds hosting Western United in a matchup that the bookies don’t give the Westies much of a hope in.
Adelaide are very short at $1.70 but a draw could be the smart play here. Each of Western United FC’s last five games as an underdog following a loss have resulted in a draw.
Not a heap of value in Adelaide, I hope both teams win.
Our Sunday triple header gets kicked off with the Mariners hosting the ‘Nix and to the surprise of no one. The bookies don’t rate Wellington.
Wellington fell all the way from second down to 6th after the Kiwi classico last week but they are still a gun side and I’m sticking to my method of backing Wellington rain, hail or shine.
The ‘Both Teams to Score’ market has failed to hit in six of Central Coast’s last seven A-League day matches. Wellington to win to nil confirmed.
3rd hosts 7th this week when Macarthur travel to take on the Sky Blues and we have another one sided matchup in the betting markets. What a shocker.
Sydney are rolling at the moment and it’s hard to make a case against them especially in this fixture.
Macarthur are on a two game losing streak and deserve that $4.75 price.
The underdog has won three of the last four A-League matches between Sydney FC and Macarthur FC but I’m not reading into that too much.
Sydney win this.
Maybe the shortest price Perth have ever been in this fixture. The Glory are $3.05 underdogs to Melbourne’s $2.15 and this screams nothing but value for Melbourne.
Don’t sleep on City, they are 2-1 and should manage the trip over to Perth here. We might not see them at $2.15 ever again this season.
