The Good, The Bad and The Fantasy – NFL Week 8 2024 Recap

The Good, The Bad and The Fantasy – NFL Week 8 2024 Recap

Happy National Tight End Day and what a day out it was for the Tight Ends in Week 8!

There’s plenty to discuss this week, let’s dive into my Week 8 recap!

NFL WEEK 8 TIER LIST

The Good

Tight Ends

It was National Tight End Day this week and boy the position group showed out.

177 receptions for TEs across the Sunday and 15 combined touchdowns, a great hit out for a position that are often overlooked and deemed a little unsexy from time to time.

The real question is, when is national fullback day?

Jayden Daniels

Caleb Williams v Jayden Daniels, 1st v 2nd overall pick certainly didn’t disappoint (well at least the end didn’t).

It was a bloody close game all the way through thanks to some poor play (and play calling) from Chicago.

Jayden Daniels is most likely the front runner for OROTY after that game.

He was questionable to play all week with a rib injury, then pulls out 326 yards and a game winning Hail Mary against the team that had the chance to draft him.

Fingers crossed these two sides get to play each other for years to come.

Detroit Lions

Detroit once again took the absolute piss.

If you’d told me that Jared Goff would only need to throw for 85 yards to put 52 points on an NFL team, I would not believe you.

But that’s exactly what we saw this week, just pure carnage.

Titans aren’t far off from relegation to the XFL, especially if they give up another passing TD from a running back.

Jameis Winston

My god I love Jameis Winston.

Making his first NFL start since 2022, you could tell he was locked in from the jump, just listen to the Oscar worthy monologue he gives in the pre game interview.

And then the man goes and balls tf out and beats not only a divisional rival but one of the Super Bowl favourites this season.

It’s insane to me that the Browns have both the world’s greatest (at least in the last week or so) and shittiest person in their quarterback room, but good has once again conquered evil and Cleveland are a team I’m interested in watching again.

Jameis I would die for you.

Miami fans cheering when Tua learned to slide

You only get one brain, look after it Tua my boy.

Justin Jefferson

Big diamonds, big plays.

It’s truely special watching this guy every week.

The Bad

That facemask no call

I mean there’s no guarantee that the Vikings go 99 yards and win that TNF game but to have the refs not even give them a chance is ridiculous.

Refereeing has been incredibly pedantic this season, you can’t breathe on anyone without a swarm of flags being thrown on the field.

But all of a sudden, when the game is on the line and there’s an actual infringement, in front of multiple refs not only is it a no call but it’s non-reviewable?

You can’t make it up.

If this happens to Pat Mahomes I guarantee you that DE never sees the field again.

Caleb Williams’ first three quarters

Caleb had 33 yards passing in the first three quarters of this game and if it wasn’t for D’Andre Swift, this game would not have been close.

The rookie had some deadset stinkers in this game.

Tyrique Stevenson

We love an early crow and this one will be hard to beat.

The Bears safety was too busy jawing with Commies fans, doesn’t realise the ball is snapped and then tips it to the man he’s supposed to cover.

It’s going to be a rough film session for him this week.

The Fantasy

Plays like this show why Lamar deserves MVP, man has no help

Ladd McConkey brings the BOOM!

The Dolphins are only fantasy relevant when Tua is on the field
