No. 2 Champagne Tonight

J: Luke Nolen (56kg) T: Peter G Moody & Katherine Coleman

Champagne Tonight is a promising filly making her debut for Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman.

The half-sister to Champagne Cuddles might need a touch of luck to go her way form a slightly awkward gate, but there was a lot to like about her recent jumpout at Pakenham, leading all the way and finding an extra gear to draw clear by a big margin.

She’s had a few hit outs to get her set for her first start and appears in capable hands under Luke Nolen on a dry track.

Cranbourne: Race 3 (2:10pm)

No. 4 Acta Non Verba

J: Damian Lane (57kg) T: Danny O'Brien

Acta Non Verba is second-up for Danny O’Brien.

This colt by Blue Point made up decent ground over 1200m a couple of weeks ago on return, finishing midfield after timing his run well off the speed.

He’s drawn a much more favourable gate on this occasion and has been racing as though he’d appreciate further.

Cranbourne: Race 5 (3:20pm)

No. 3 Platinum Destroyer

J: Ethan Brown (59.5kg) T: Liam Howley

Platinum Destroyer should find the mile to his liking after winning his maiden over the same trip at Echuca earlier in the year.

He only beat a small field that day, but there has been a bit to like about the form with a few coming out and winning since.

By Smart Missile, look for him to settle right back off the speed again and charge home late.

Cranbourne: Race 7 (4:30pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 6 Furosshi

J: Ben Allen (58.5kg) T: Gavin Bedggood

Furosshi ran an eye-catching race on return at Seymour last start, finding top gear over his final few strides to finish second to Bay Of Zea.

Still only lightly-raced, she’s got stacks of improvement left to come, especially after winning her maiden quite well at Kyneton earlier in the year.

Having competed in tougher races at Caulfield last prep, this should be another winnable contest for her with fitness on her side.
