Daily MLB Tips – World Series Game 3

Tip: Back the Dodgers to Win @ $2.20

Game 3 – LAD Leads 2-0

History is firmly against the Yankees as they return home to the Bronx knowing close to 80 per cent of teams holding a 2-0 advantage in the World Series go on to win it all.

That said, this series has lived up to the hype so far with big boppers like Teoscar Hernandez and Giancarlo Stanton going yard, as well as late drama in the extra innings of Game 1, and the top of the ninth in Game 2.

The spotlight is firmly on Shohei Ohtani heading into Game 3 after suffering a minor shoulder injury on Sunday, but it sounds like baseball’s most famous face is set to take to the batter’s box on Tuesday.

Elsewhere, the pressure is on the Yankees’ Aaron Judge to find some much-needed magic at the plate, as well as Game 3 starter Clarke Schmidt, who has given up a pair of earned runs in limited innings during both of his Postseason starts so far.

On the other side of the rubber is Walker Buehler, potentially the story of the Dodgers’ trophy run if he can reproduce his sparkling four-inning shutout in Game 3 against the Mets last week.

In terms of betting, the Yankees can easily claw their way back into this series if they avoid the same mistakes that have cost them so far.

Judge struggling at the plate is one thing, but Nestor Cortes hanging a fastball over the plate against Freddie Freeman, or Aaron Boone allowing Carlos Rodon, who clearly looked rattled, to stay in the game on Sunday are entirely different.

You’d think returning home to the Yankee faithful would help, but keep in mind, Boone’s side fared slightly better on the road in terms of AVG and OBP, while the Yankees also won more games on the road than they did in their home park.

Anthony Volpe getting back on base and Jazz Chisholm providing a spark could change things, but with some of Boone’s decisions proving costly, we could be looking at the Dodgers moving one step closer to bringing the brooms out.

Home Run Bets
Tip: Shohei Ohtani to Hit a Home Run @ $3.10

The building blocks are in place for Shohei Ohtani to leave his mark in Game 3.

He’s recorded only one hit in eight World Series plate appearances so far, but does own a home run off Clarke Schmidt – a towering shot that registered a whopping 116 MPH off the end of the bat.
