Game 3 – Series Tied 1-1
Queens should be buzzing on Wednesday after the Mets split the series one game apiece in Philly over the weekend.
Manager Carlos Mendoza turns to Sean Manaea, and he’s the arm I’m willing to bet on after throwing five innings of two-run ball in last week’s Game 2 Wild Card loss to the Brewers.
On the other side of the rubber stands Aaron Nola, one of the more unreliable arms heading into the Postseason.
With his best stuff, Nola is one of the top arms in the league, but his last month ahs seen him surrender 16 combined earned runs over his last five starts, including six against this same Mets lineup.
Pete Alonso, Jesse Winker, and Francisco Alvarez have all raked against Nola throughout their careers, while it’s worth noting the Mets are 42-32 this season off a loss.
- Tip: Back the Mets to Win @ $1.94
- Player Pick: Pete Alonso to Hit a Home Run
- SGM: Mets Win/Mets Over 3.5 Runs/Francisco Alvarez to Record a Hit
Game 3 – Series Tied 1-1
We’re off to Petco for what should be a fiery Game 3 after tempers boiled over during the Paders’ 10-2 rout on Monday.
Michael King was exceptional for San Diego last week when he took on the Braves, the former Yankee throwing seven scoreless innings to go with 12 K’s and zero walks.
A similar stat line would see the Friars hard to beat, particularly with their two corner outfielders, Jurickson Profar and Fernando Tatis Jr, both pulling off circus-like catches on the daily.
King’s Wild Card start gives him an edge over Dodgers righty Walker Buehler, who makes his first postseason start since Game 6 of the 2021 NLCS.
In a tough road environment with fans expecting a few scuffles, this looks to be advantage Padres.
- Tip: Back the Padres to Win @ $1.65
- Player Pick: Manny Machado to Hit a Home Run
- SGM: Padres Win/Walker Buehler Over 2.5 Runs Allowed/Over 7.5 Total Runs
