2024 NFL Week 6 Tips & Preview

2024 NFL Week 6 Tips & Preview

Week 6 of the NFL season is here!

I probably said it last week too but if you had the Vikings to be at 5-0 to start the season you are a deadset liar.

There’s plenty to discuss in this weeks preview including another game in foggy London town.

I’ve got you covered for tips, here’s where I’ve landed for each game.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS V SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
See Below

The Seahawks had a bit of a minor bump in the road last week, losing to the Giants in a big upset and the bookies have them as underdogs here this week but I’m not sure if we can count out the Seahawks this season.

Geno Smith has shown some flashes already this year and the 2-3 49ers have shown that they are certainly not invincible.

It’s a bloody tough line to split this week but a play on the Seahawks to cover is where I’m leaning.

A play on them H2H isn’t the most foolish bet in the world either.

My Bets

  • Seattle Seahawks +3.5 @ $1.90
  • DK Metcalf 60+ Receiving Yards @ $1.67
  • George Kittle Anytime Touchdown @ $2.45
CHICAGO BEARS V LONDON JAGUARS
See Below

Did I or did I not predict a Caleb Williams breakout in last weeks preview?

Don’t click off to have a look, I’ll let you know right now. I did.

Caleb this week has another great matchup against a lacklustre Jaguars team who only one their first game of the year last week and to top it all off, they’re in London!

Trevor Lawrence needed to have his literal greatest professional game of all time last week to get a (narrow) win over the Colts.

Their defence gave up 34 points and Caleb has improved week on week so far this season.

I’m going to be ballsy here, it’s not an actual multi you can place but I’d be backing the Bears 14+ into Doug Pederson getting fired this week. That’s my hot take and I’m sticking to it.

Jags D = Bad

Caleb Williams = Very Good

My Bets

  • Chicago Bears 14+ @ $4.80
  • Caleb Williams 275+ Passing Yards
  • Cole Kmet Anytime Touchdown Scorer
GREEN BAY PACKERS V ARIZONA CARDINALS
See Below

If we don’t see 500+ combined passing yards in this game, I’m going to be thoroughly disappointed.

Kyler and J Love have been airing that thing out so far to start the season and even though the Cards are $2.90 underdogs and I’m expecting a very healthy box score in this one.

Who wins the air raid game?

I’m leaning towards the Packers, Arizona have a few more holes on both sides of the ball than I anticipated this season and Love should be able to take advantage of that.

My Bets

  • Green Bay Packers -5.5 @ $1.94
  • Jordan Love 250+ Passing Yards
  • Kyler Murray 250+ Passing Yards
  • Jayden Reed Anytime Touchdown
TENNESSEE TITANS V INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
See Below

I hate everything about this game, I hate everything about these teams.

This is one to avoid watching if you find yourself up for the early slate of games.

Will Levis has a knack for throwing the ball to the other team so a play on the Colts D for a touchdown is a decent shout here.

The Colts defence gave up 37 points last week.

Normally I’d smash the WRs in a matchup like this but I don’t know if the Titans have it in them.

Back the unders… and both defences to score a touchdown.

My Bets

  • Under 43 Points @ $1.90
  • Colts DST Anytime TD Scorer
  • Titans DST Anytime TD Scorer
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS V TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
See Below

Two Oklahoma Sooner QBs will do battle in this game.

The former Heisman winner Baker Mayfield will lead the Bucs and Netflix villain Spencer Rattler will make his first ever professional start for the Saints.

I’m loving what the Buccaneers are cheffing up this season, will the Saints be able to return to their week 1 & 2 form and pick up an important NFC South win?

My tea leaves say no.

Buccs 14+ here for me, Mike Evans for 75+ and a TD just feels right here does it not?

My Bets

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers 14+ @ $3.90
  • Mike Evans 75+ Receiving Yards
  • Mike Evans Anytime Touchdown
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES V CLEVELAND BROWNS
See Below

I don’t think I’ve ever done such a drastic 180 on my opinion of a team like I have the Cleveland Browns.

I wanted them to do well for so long, I enjoyed when they did well and know I’m a front row seat holder for their downfall and seeing that they’re $4.25 underdogs to beat this banged up Eagles team warms my heart and tingles my gooch all at the same time.

It’s looking like Jalen Hurts will get all his weapons back this week.

Another comfortable 14+ play here for me.

My Bets

  • Philadelphia Eagles 14+ @ $2.45
  • AJ Brown 75+ Rushing Yards
  • AJ Brown Anytime Touchdown
BALTIMORE RAVENS V WASHINGTON COMMANDERS
See Below

We’ve got Lamar Jackson v Lamar Jackson lite in this early morning fixture.

The Commanders are must watch football this season, Jayden Daniels has been such an exciting young rookie to watch this season but will be properly tested this week against a Ravens team that could be the best looking 3-2 team in the league.

The Ravens being $1.35 favourites but only having a line of 6.5 points shows me that the Commanders aren’t just going to let Baltimore bully them in this one.

This should be closer than the bookies are letting on.

My Bets

  • Baltimore Ravens 1-13 @ $2.30
  • Derrick Henry Anytime Touchdown
  • Derrick Henry 80+ Rushing Yards
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS V HOUSTON TEXANS
See Below

Drake Maye will make his first official professional start this week.

Does that mean the Pats have a chance against this Texans outfit?

Not likely.

Nico Collins is officially on the sideline for a while but that Texans O has more weapons than they know what to do with.

Looking forward to seeing Drake Maye as an NFL QB but I don’t think he gets a fairytale debut as a starter unfortunately.

My Bets

  • Houston Texans -7 @ $1.90
  • CJ Stroud 300+ Passing Yards
  • Stefon Diggs Anytime Touchdown
DENVER BRONCOS V LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
See Below

Anyone’s game this one.

The Chargers insist on rolling out Justin Herbert on a bung leg and the Broncos are lowkey rolling at 3-2 to start the year.

Denver look to be the team on the up if you’re comparing these two sides and $2.20 for them to get the win, in altitude here is where I’m looking.

Bo Nix and Sean Payton seem to have the better bromance out of these two QB/HCs too and that is honestly the tiebreaker here for me.

My Bets

  • Denver Broncos H2H @ $2.20
  • Courtland Sutton 60+ Rushing Yards
  • Courtland Sutton Anytime Touchdown
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS V PITTSBURGH STEELERS
See Below

The Steelers D are going to do bad bad things to Aidan O’Connell the new Raiders QB this week and after that bizarre primetime game last week.

I reckon they’re looking forward to it.

The Steelers are a well deserved $1.50 favourites here and I don’t know if the Raiders will be able to hang with them at all.

Does Justin Fields have it in him to put enough points on the Raiders for them to run away with this one?

He’s the only reason I’m hesitant to just out and out back the 14+.

Steelers to cover however, I’m more more happy to back.

My Bets

  • Pittsburgh Steelers -3 @ $1.90
  • George Pickens 60+ Receiving Yards
  • Najee Harris Anytime Touchdown
DALLAS COWBOYS V DETROIT LIONS
See Below

The last time these two teams met was honestly one of my favourite games of 2023.

I’m hoping, pleading and praying that we get another high powered offensive game from these two sides and given that Detroit are coming off the bye and have had an extra week to prep. I spreckon we’re a good chance.

Detroit are $1.62 favourites in this one and that’s where I’m leaning.

They’ve had an extra week to plan for this one, they have a million dawgs that are ready to eat some kneecaps and the Cowboys aren’t quite the threat I anticipated them to be this year.

Lions to win for me.

My Bets

  • Detroit Lions H2H @ $1.62
  • Jared Goff 275+ Passing Yards
  • Amon-Ra St. Brown 75+ Receiving Yards
  • Sam LaPorta Anytime Touchdown Scorer
CAROLINA PANTHERS V ATLANTA FALCONS
See Below

509 Passing Yards and 4 Touchdowns is what Kirk Cousins threw for last week in primetime.

And now he gets the Panthers?

Big big big YIKES.

The Falcons are a well deserved $1.38 here and this is my most confident 14+ of the week.

My Bets

  • Atlanta Falcons 14+ @ $3.15
  • Kyle Pitts 75+ Receiving Yards
  • Bijan Robinson Anytime Touchdown Scorer
NEW YORK GIANTS V CINCINNATI BENGALS
See Below

The Giants defence has been a force to be reckoned with this season and quite frankly are carrying this team so far (pls don’t get too offended Malik Nabers, I still love you).

Do they have what it takes to beat this Bengals team? More than likely just quietly.

Cincy are 1-4 and while they have some healthy box scores, it’s not translating to wins and the Giants are bullying teams this year.

The Bengals in the Joe Burrow era have historically struggled to keep him upright and NY this year are bullying O-Lines for fun.

The Giants look value here.

My Bets

  • New York Giants H2H @ $2.45
  • Tyrone Tracy 60+ Rushing Yards
  • Tyrone Tracy Anytime Touchdown
NEW YORK JETS V BUFFALO BILLS
See Below

The Jets have just fired their head coach and how often in world sport do we see an interim coach stand up and pick up a win in their first week at the helm?

I don’t have an exact number but it feels like it happens more often than not.

The Jets have the pieces to help their interim HC to a win here, they just need to put it together and I’m willing to have a crack on it.

My Bets

  • New York Jets H2H @ $2.15
  • Breece Hall 60+ Rushing Yards
  • Breece Hall Anytime Touchdown
FOGS' FANTASY TEAM
