The Good, The Bad and The Fantasy – NFL Week 2 2024 Recap

The Good, The Bad and The Fantasy – NFL Week 2 2024 Recap

Week Two is in the books and if you haven’t got a least one serious injury on your fantasy team yet you should go and buy a lotto ticket.

It was a massive week of upsets with the Bills, Vikings, Saints, Packers, Buccs, Raiders and Cardinals all pulling off upset wins.

There’s plenty to discuss this week, let’s dive into my week 2 recap!

NFL WEEK 2 TIERLIST

The Good

RBs in the Friday game

I’m going to toot my own horn here, I got to start both James Cook & De’Von Achane on Friday and it was GLORIOUS.

60 points from two fantasy RBs heading into the weekend, felt pretty damn good. What made it better was the question marks around Achane’s availability.

The last few years it’s felt like we’ve had some stinkers on the Friday but we’ve already been blessed with two crackers this year.

Sam Darnold

The big dog gets a shout out two weeks in a row!

I did not expect much from the Vikings once JJ McCarthy was ruled out for the season but Darnold looks to be firming as the Comeback Player Of The Year favourite in my eyes.

What’s he come back from? Being shit, but that apparently is enough to win the award.

That’s a hell of a play to make in your own endzone.

Malik Nabers

Has OBJ2.0 arrived in NYC?

He’s certainly getting force fed like he has.

18 targets, 10 receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown.

While there are certainly a lot of holes to patch up before the Giants can compete.

It looks like they have a genuine stud WR1.

Are The Saints… Good?

Highest scoring team in the league this season and they just knocked over the Cowboys who are pretty high up there to win the SB.

The NFC South looks to be stronger than I initially thought.

Maserati Marv

Last week Marvin Harrison Jr was limited to just one catch for four yards in his debut.

Seven minutes into his second game in the league he had 100 yards and two touchdowns.

The highly touted WR prospect certainly lived upto his draft capital this week but it’s now time to see K1 and Marv link up consistently.

The Bad

Bryce Young

Last year’s first overall pick has officially been benched and whether or not you think it’s a good idea, it’s kind of been inevitable.

Young showed flashes of NFL starter potential last year but in the two games this season, it looks like he’s regressed in a very big way.

Will we see Bryce as a starter again? There is every chance.

The man won a Heisman trophy in college and we have seen guys like Sam Darnold & Baker Mayfield bounce around the league before getting settled into an offense.

Who’s fault is this? Carolina’s for never putting him in a position to succeed or develop or Bryce’s for not being able to transition to the pros? At this point in time we just don’t know.

Tua Tagovailoa

It sucks seeing anyone get hurt in this league but seeing Tua go down again with a headknock on Friday sucked so much.

Apparently he plans to keep playing but at some point surely it’s not worth it.

The man has made more money than any of us can comprehend, surely he’s suffered enough for it.

Injuries

Tua Tagovailoa, Anthony Richardson, Jayden Daniels, Justin Herbert, Isiah Pacheco, Rachaad White, Joe Mixon, Tyjae Spears, Jeff Wilson Jr., Tank Bigsby, Pierre Strong Jr., Justin Jefferson, Cooper Kupp, A.J. Brown, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Evan Engram, Taysom Hill and now Deebo Samuel.

That is a long list of NFL stars that copped big knocks this week.

Fingers crossed that majority of them can bounce back.

The Fantasy

Derek Carr currently QB1 on the year

Alvin Kamara with 4TDs giving me flashbacks of Christmas Day 2020

Might be worth giving BTJ more than two targets a game

Shoutout to QJ, can he turn it around in Year 2?
