Premier League Game Week 4 Tips & Preview

Premier League Game Week 4 Tips & Preview

The Premier League returns following the international break, with Liverpool and Man City both bidding to keep their perfect start alive.

Meanwhile a depleted Arsenal outfit looks to keep pace with the title leaders when they take on arch rival Tottenham.

Elsewhere, Man United hopes to save face against Southampton, Chelsea travels to Bournemouth and Villa hosts Everton.

Our VAR Virtuoso has previewed all 10 Game Week 4 Premier League fixtures and provided his best bets below.

Southampton FC vs Manchester United
Manchester United and Over 1.5 Goals $2.00

Manchester United heads to St. Mary’s Stadium hoping to address a two-game losing streak which left them in 14th place in the league heading into the international break.

Unsurprisingly, the Red Devils are undefeated across their last 15 competitive fixtures against Southampton, though their dominance has waivered in recent years, drawing three of the pairs last four league meetings (1W).

Meanwhile, the Saints have loss all three of their opening league fixtures, with many pundits tipping them to rejoin the Championship for the 2025/26 season.

Southampton’s possession heavy style was exploited on the transition by Brentford last time out, and I’m backing Man United to have similar success here.

I’m taking the United to win combined with over 1.5 total goals.

Manchester City vs Brentford
Haaland to Score 2+ Goals & Man City to Win

Man City will look to keep their perfect record intact when they welcome Brentford to the Etihad Stadium.

The Citizens have scored a league-high nine goals across their opening three games, with Haaland chipping in with a lazy seven.

Only Liverpool (7) and Chelsea (7) have scored as many goals as the Norwegian robot, a cause for concern for a Brentford side who are yet to keep a clean sheet.

I’m backing Haaland’s reign of terror to continue, with him bagging 2+ goals and City to win.

Fulham vs West Ham United
Fulham $2.30

Fulham and West Ham take the field at Craven Cottage in the highly anticipated Lonham derby.

The Cottagers are looking to claim a third straight victory over the Hammers for the first time since 1966, after completing the double over their London rivals last season (7-0).

The Irons are yet to fully take under the leadership of Julen Lopetegui, and I can see them continuing to struggle throughout the opening months of the season.

I’m taking the home side to win at an attractive $2.30.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Ipswich Town
Brighton & Hove Albion and Over 2.5 Goals $1.91

Brighton look to build on their incredible start to the season when they welcome newly promoted Ipswich Town to the Amex Stadium.

The Seagulls are undefeated across all comps this season (3W,1D), taking points from Man United (2-1) and Arsenal (1-1).

Alternatively, the Tractor Boys have collected just one league point (1D,2L), while also suffering a sick defeat to league-two outfit Wimbledon in the EFL Cup.

Brighton matches are synonymous with goals, and I’m backing the home side to prevail in a high-scoring fixture.

Crystal Palace vs Leicester City
Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Total Goals $2.23
Both Crystal Palace and Leicester enter their Game Week 4 fixture hoping to improve on a 1-2 league record.
The Eagles held Chelsea to 1-1 last time out, with star man Eberichi Eze scoring his first of what should be many goals this season.
Neither outfit has managed to keep a clean sheet across their opening three fixtures, while both teams to score has hit in five of the last six meetings between the pair.
I’m backing both sides to find the back of the net combined with over 2.5 total goals.
Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest
Mo Salah to Score & Liverpool to Nil $3.38

Liverpool flies into this contest with three wins from three league fixtures, combined with seven goals for and zero goals against.

The Reds are the only side yet to concede this campaign, and are looking to claim a third straight victory to nil against Forest.

Alternatively, Notts Forest have won once across their opening three fixtures (2D), and they haven’t won a game at Anfield since 1978 (6D,20L).

Mo Salah has scored in all three fixtures this season, while also laying on three assists, only Haaland (7) has been involved in more goals.

I’m backing Salah to score, combined with Liverpool winning to nil.

Aston Villa vs Everton FC
Villa to Win + Watkins & DCL to have 1+ SoT $3.09

Aston Villa will attempt to climb into the top four with a victory over a disastrous Toffees outfit.

Everton have lost all three of their fixtures this season, most recently squandering a 2-0 lead against Bournemouth, after conceding three goals in the final nine minutes of the match!

The Villans are undefeated across their last ten league meetings with Everton (7W,3D), while keeping a clean sheet in seven of those fixtures.

I’m backing the home side to win, combined with a shot on target by both Watkins and Calvert-Lewin.

AFC Bournemouth vs Chelsea
Chelsea to Win $1.98

Bournemouth put their undefeated record on the line when they welcome Chelsea to Vitality Stadium.

The Blues have endured mixed results so far this season, understandably losing out 2-0 to Man City in the opening week, going on to claim a 6-2 statement victory over the Wolves, before dropping points in a 1-1 draw to London rivals Palace.

Meanwhile, the Cherries snatched victory from the jaws of defeat last time out, scoring three late goals to overcome Everton 3-2, to go along with their two stalemates against forest and Newcastle.

Despite drawing to Crystal Palace, the Blues were the far superior side, and with a little more composure/luck in front of goal I can see them running through the Cherries with ease.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal
Over 3.5 $2.30

Match of the week see Tottenham host Arsenal in a North London Derby.

The Gunners have been the much better side in recent years, and that has shown in this fixture, with the Red side of North London winning three of the last four derbies (1D).

Arsenal will be heading into this fixture light in the middle of the pitch, with Rice suspended and Odegaard suffering and ankle injury whilst on international duty.

This will likely see Jorginho start alongside Partey and Havertz, with the strikers role to be disputed between a recovering Jesus and new signing Sterling.

Despite Arsenals extended list of outs, I can’t bring myself to back Tottenham in the H2H market, never I have a seen a team display so much attacking dominance while continuously losing.

I’m steering clear of the H2H market, instead backing over 3.5 Goals.

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Newcastle United
Draw $3.70

Game Week 4 comes to a close on Sunday night (AEST), when Wolves play host to the Toon.

The Magpies remain undefeated this season (2W,1D), despite playing below their best, claiming narrow wins against Southampton and Tottenham.

Meanwhile, Wolverhampton are yet to taste victory (1D,2L), although they could be forgiven considering their defeats came against Arsenal and Chelsea.

Newcastles last Premier League victory at Molineux Stadium came back in 2011 (5D,1L).

History suggests the points will be split here, and at $3.70, I’m happy to cheer on the draw!
