Sandown: Race 2 (1:35pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Each Way

No. 12 Enchanted Jenni

J: Declan Bates (55kg) T: Ben, Will & Jd Hayes

Enchanted Jenni each-way for me in a tricky maiden race early on the program.

The Lindsay Park-trained filly was solid on debut when running on late to finish second, overcoming a slow start out of the gates in similar conditions behind Escarpa, who has since gone on to run well.

She’s got a wide gate to contend with, but if there’s some sting out of the track still, she’ll be right in the finish over further.

Sandown: Race 4 (2:45pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 6 Dancinginthedark

J: Jaylah Kennedy (57kg) T: M C Kent

Dancinginthedark gets in well with the 2kg claim.

This is a rise in class for the mare by Testa Rossa, but she does look capable after winning by well clear of two lengths a couple of runs back at Moe.

This is her first look at 2400m, but rock-hard fit with her runs spaced, she should be fighting out the finish with conditions to suit and the right run off the speed.

Sandown: Race 5 (3:20pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 7 Landmark

J: Blake Shinn (59kg) T: L Kennewell & L Yeomans

Landmark has been kept fresh for the run after finishing second at Flemington last start.

The colt by Nicconi shed the maiden tag nicely over his final few strides at Bendigo three back, before going on to run a place in much tougher races against Saturday grade calibre horses.

He’s drawn slightly awkwardly, but with some juice in the track and Blake Shinn still engaged, he’ll be given every chance.

Sandown: Race 8 (5:05pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 14 Half Yours

J: Ethan Brown (58.5kg) T: Ciaron Maher

Half Yours is a progressive gelding that could go on and prove competitive in tougher races sometime very soon.

Ciaron Maher’s lightly-raced four-year-old steps out in search of his hat-trick following a six-length win over the mile on a rain-affected track at Cranbourne last start.

He’s been given close to a six-week break between runs, and although this is his first look at 2000m, his late charge to the line last time out suggested he might be wanting further.

Drawn well, he’ll take serious beating with Ethan Brown steering again.
