No. 7 Finale

J: Billy Egan (57.5kg) T: Cliff Brown

Finale is a 10 start maiden who has spent time racing against tougher company in town.

The mare by Extreme Choice wrapped up her autumn prep finishing midfield at Caulfield over much further earlier in the year, before returning a treat at Mornington a couple of weeks ago where she flew home late for third.

Racing over a similar distance first-up should have her fit and sharp for the 1400m trip as Billy Egan hops back aboard after riding her to a place as a three-year-old.

No. 3 Thinking Of Gerty

J: Jake Noonan (60.5kg) T: Gwenda Johnstone

Thinking Of Gerty just needs to handle the extra weight to be a serious chance.

Gwenda Johnstone’s mare was impressive on debut at Echuca back in May, leading her rivals up the straight and storming the line to go clear by a handy margin.

She was impressive up to BM64 level a couple of weeks later on a shifty track at Seymour, losing no admirers when finishing runner-up before being put away quickly in time for hte spring.

With options from the middle gate following some decent jumpouts, she’s one of the leading chances in a competitive sprint race.

Tatura: Race 6 (4:00pm)

No. 4 Henry’s Blade

J: Cory Parish (61.5kg) T: Ben, Will & Jd Hayes

Henry’s Blade has drawn to receive all the favours from the inside gate.

This lighty-raced four-year-old by Harry Angel was sensational winning his maiden at Donald a couple of weeks ago, a run that suggested he’ll handle the extra trip despite clinging on narrowly for the win.

He’s rock-hard fit with four runs under his belt and looks capable of tackling bigger races than this in his future.

No. 11 Undaunting

J: Teodore Nugent (59kg) T: M & L Kavanagh

Undaunting is fourth-up for the Kavanagh Team and looking to build on a last start runner-up performance in a tougher race at Bendigo.

We’ve already this promising mare come out and win her maiden over the mile at Benalla back in April, while her late fight back over the final furlong last start suggested she’s ready to handle further.

The low gate works in her favour with Teo Nugent on board, so look for the pair to adopt a spot just off the pace in the early going.
