No. 4 Shine Like It Does

J: Regan Bayliss (55.5kg) T: Edward O'Rourke

Shine Like It Does wasn’t beaten far over the mile at Wyong last start when leading most of the way.

The mare by Churchill stuck on nicely up on the speed, only run down over her final few strides along the rail off a four week break.

She’s open to big improvement on less of a turnaround this time and could find the dry conditions more suitable. Drawn well and stepping back slightly in trip, she shouldn’t be a maiden for much longer.

Hawkesbury: Race 5 (3:35pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 2 Copacabana

J: Reece Jones (60kg) T: M, W & J Hawkes

Copacabana looks one of the better bets on Thursday’s program.

The son Hawkes-trained son of Toronado loomed up nicely tow in his maiden at Newcastle late last month, hitting top gear down the centre of the straight under the hands and heels of Reece Jones.

The pair combine again third-up and map to get a lovely ride in transit just off the speed with conditions to suit.

Hawkesbury: Race 6 (4:10pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 1 Highborn Harry

J: Dylan Gibbons (60kg) T: David Payne

Highborn Harry battled his way to find the money last start over shorter after settling close to the speed.

David Payne’s gelding was strong to the line down the outside, attempting a big rise in trip after tackling 1300m the run prior at Rosehill.

He’s proven third-up and should be rock-hard fit now getting out to 2000m for the first time with Dylan Gibbons proven in the saddle. If the pair can settle a little more patient this time, they’ll be in this for a long way.

Hawkesbury: Race 7 (4:45pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 7 Explosive Torpido

J: Alysha Collett (56.5kg) T: David Pfieffer

Explosive Torpido was going great guns before running into trouble over the track and trip last start from out wide.

The Supido mare shed the maiden tag nicely at Newcastle over 900m the run prior, showing she had plenty left to give through the line under Alysha Collett.

She’s drawn much kinder on this occasion and can bounce back with the right run in behind the leaders.
