No. 6 Ahellbenda

J: Rachel King (55.5kg) T: Bjorn Baker

Ahellbenda looks ready to win third-up for Bjorn Baker.

The filly by Hellbent was slightly outclassed at Hawkesbury last start over 1100m, but I thought she held on nicely to just miss out on a place after racing a little keen early.

The step up from 1100m to 1400m is the biggest question, but she’s drawn an ideal gate that leaves Rachel King with a range of options.

No. 6 No Second Thoughts

J: Olivia Chambers (57.5kg) T: Bjorn Baker

No Second Thoughts has gone up favourite after leading all the way to win at Bathurst over shorter last start.

Bjorn Baker’s mare took control early and was basically unchallenged making every post a winner, a strong victory that suggests she can handle racing over further now up in grade.

She should have no problem rolling forward from the middle gate, and with some decent wet track form to her name, the soft conditions under foot should pose no problem.

Dubbo: Race 5 (3:20pm)

No. 2 Paris Lad

J: Ashley Morgan (58kg) T: Brett Cavanough

Paris Lad is open to improvement second-up over further.

We saw Brett Cavanough’s gelding flash home late for third at Moree fresh, a run that suggested he might have more left in the tank after racing wide throughout.

Where he winds up from another tricky gate is the query, but experienced on a wet track and likely to test his luck on speed, he should give a nice sight.

Dubbo: Race 7 (4:35pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

No. 3 Hollywood Hero

J: Ashley Morgan (58.5kg) T: Bjorn Baker

Hollywood Hero looks well-suited back in grade after tackling a couple of tougher races at Randwick this time in work.

Bjorn Baker’s five-year-old has handled big weight on both occasions, but does get in carrying just 58.5kg here under the experienced Ashley Morgan.

He’s drawn a better gate than some of the other top chances and boasts a solid record over the mile with three wins to his name.

Back to country level and set to peak third-up, he’s one of the better value plays in the race.
